Car in front of me got cut off on a 3-lane highway. Had to panic stop. Tried to immediately switch lanes as there was a Mack truck behind me...I hit the gas, but electric motor remained engaged and would not transfer to engine power so I was a sitting duck! It took 4 seconds before the engine kicked in, and I was able to slowly accelerate back up to normal travel speed. Thought I was gonna die, but fortunately the truck driver was paying attention and switched lanes in time.

Unfortunately, the hybrid Pathfinder is so new that they have to wait for someone to either get in an accident because of this issue or enough people experience this rare scenario to trigger a recall. Pursuing Lemon Law arbitration due to safety issue. Learned never buy the first model year of anything!!!!!
