The check engine light has been on permanently. The check tire light has been on too, without any problems with the tires. The right rear passenger door will not open. I was told by a mechanic to go repair the Catalytic Converter - P420. I did. The check engine light went off but before I got home, it came back on again. I was also told that I need to work on the transmission but as a senior, on a fixed income I can't afford the amount of money to do the repairs.

This car should have been recalled. One mechanic told me the 2005 Quest was the worst year and he didn't want to work on it. "Don't Bring Back, No Good Year" exact words. I also couldn't pass my smog check.

Transmission slow to shift into gear at low speeds. When I put it into 3rd gear, it jerks horribly and eventually picks up speed. What is the fix? Or how much is the average repair?

WHILE DRIVING IN THE SNOW/ICE, THE TRANSMISSION SEEMED LIKE IT DISENGAGED AND THE ENGINE WOULD REV UP TO 5000RPM AND THE VAN WOULD NOT ACCELERATE.
