In early Dec 2016 I discovered a 12 inch horizontal straight line crack on the passenger side dashboard above the air bag, My dash is in very good condition with no visible damage or wear to the dash. I reported this to Nissan the crack has been verified by my local Nissan dealer. Otherwise I am very satisfied with the vehicle.

I am surprised to find so many other people with the same issue I am having in the same spot (not just on this site but on plenty of other sites and forums). I have owned Nissan and Infiniti in the past and can't say I've had any of these build quality issues. However, I now find that my dash is cracked on the passenger side just as many others have described. This makes me concerned about the functionality of the airbag...is this seemingly aesthetic issue (albeit a serous eye-sore and drain on the re-sale/trade-in value) now one that also jeopardizes safety? A new dash installed at the dealer is not cheap but may be necessary to fix this potentially serious issue.

There is a split in the dash board were the air bag is on the passenger side, at 55,000 miles this shouldn't be an issue. I haven't called the dealer yet as today is Sunday. I'll call them tomorrow. I have had really bad luck out of this vehicle. I have had good luck with Nissan's in the past, but this Quest is making me have second thoughts.

The dash on my 2011 Quest must have been made out of recycled garbage. It cracked on the passenger side over the air bag in several places, and it practically disintegrates to the touch.

I bought my 2011 Nissan brand new off the floor. I started to notice a small crack on the one side of the passenger airbag almost 18 months later . The crack got longer than the other side developed a crack in which it also got longer over time. I am not sure how this could of happened especially since I take good care of my vehicle and make sure everyone else does too.

Before I start let me say that I know this car is out of warranty but with that being said - This is a 7 year old luxury High end vehicle.
The Dashboard is cracking at the seams where the dash material folds over - on both sides and in exactly the same place. It is also cracking above the cluster on the seam. These are all areas where there is NO sun and just to mention that this car is in the shade all day long and the dash is covered. Just over this past weekend the dash formed a blister and if you gently tough it there is nothing underneath.
I approached Nissan and because the car is out of warranty there is no assistance with the repair which will cost me about 2 - 2.5K. I did ask them to please prove to me if this is a common problem with other 2011 Quests or even older model Quests. They palmed it off on the dealership and said the dealership needs to show me "like cars" off their lot. I would like to sell this car in about 6 months and this problem is only going to get worse. You can actually hear the dash creaking when going over bumps in the road.
This is definitely a "Lemon" there are other body issues wrong with this vehicle as well (Buckling door panels). I need to get this repairs and to be able to stop the damage before it gets worse. I am disgusted at Nissan for not backing up their defective materials because of a piece of paper. I did have an extended warranty B to B on this vehicle which I sold back because of some very poor advise that I got from a sales person.
Has anybody else that drives a Quest had a problem like this. I just can not put this down to wear and tear on this so called 7 year old Luxury High End Vehicle.
