The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the brake pedal sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The local dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was notified and did not assist. The failure mileage was 101,000.

The contact owns a 2008 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving 35 mph, the brakes failed without any warning light illumination. The contact had to pull the emergency brake to stop the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnosis and the contact was informed that the transmission, fuel gauge, and master cylinder all needed to be repaired. The contact was also informed of an electrical failure with the air bags. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was notified, but offered no assistance. The failure and current mileages were 33,000.
