After buying a used 2008 Nissan Rogue with 55,000 miles August 2012. We took a trip up north and on the way back when I was driving up the hills on hwy95 the accelerator stop working and we coud have been killed. I was really freaked out!!!! my family was in the car also. We got off the hwy and turned off the engine and started driving again as soon as we went up a hill it started again. Took it to the dealer in Jacksonville Florida and they said it was the pedal sensor and it cost $248. It drove fine to work and back, we have no hills in jacksonville. In Oct 2012 we went to Orange Beach Fl and as soon as we started going up small hills on hwy10 the same problem started. Accelerator would not work!!!! started slowing down and were almost hit from behind. We are taking it back to the dealer this week. Could someone tell me why Nissan is not taking care of this deadly problem????
Update from Oct 22, 2012: we are leaving the car today with the dealer and of course they say they have never heard about this problem!!! They thought the $248 THAT WE PAID FOR THE SENSOR WOULD FIX THE DEADLY PROBLEM. All you have to do is google it and you will get way too many that have the same problem.
