problem #2

Jun 172016

Rogue SE 4 cyl

  • CVT transmission
  • 126,138 miles

I was driving on the highway as I exit on the ramp the car all of a sudden slowed down and almost got rear ended if I did not turn on the hazard light.

Very dangerous and life threathening. Just brought the car to the dealer. Looks like this is a common problem.

problem #1

Jun 222011

Rogue SL 2.5L

  • CVT transmission
  • 39,800 miles

Periodically, when pulling away from a traffic light the car will barely move. By the time I get across the intersection the car is only going 5 miles an hour and the RPM on the engine won't even rise above 1500. Even if the accelerator pedal is fully depressed! The symptom does not always happen. The diagnosis was the Brake Lights! We did not know that all the brake lights were not functioning, the bulbs and fuses were good but the switch mounted on the brake pedal was not working. Apparently this Nissan ( and its written on our receipt) when it encounters a problem (like the brake lights) it puts the car into a "Fail Safe Mode" This hardly seems Safe? (error codes on there computer C1116, PO703 and P1805) I did additional research and If I read it right a warning does flash on the dash for 8 seconds (from the TCM), but while this was flashing I think I was staring in my rear view mirror at the angry people behind me.
