This problem can get me killed. I hear this problem has an extended warranty until 120,000. Going to call Nissan tomorrow. With this many complaints, it should be a recall. I have owned Nissan since 1995 and my daughter owns Infinity. I will be talking to her soon.

I was getting off the highway and came to a complete stop pushed on the accelerator and the car would not move. I turned the car off and turned it back on put it in drive and tried again still would not move. Put it in reverse and the car still wouldn't move.

Loved the car, except now any trip over an hour, car completely loses power, car is completely unreliable. Extremely dangerous; safety hazard to myself and others around me. Happens while on the highway, goes from 80 to 20 in seconds without warning. Only now that the problem is severe has any check engine light come on. I'm now told it's a 5200 dollar repair. Only happens on long drives and any small incline.
This should be a recall, major defect with vehicles transmission.

I had my transmission replaced in November and even with a new transmission, I have had major acceleration problems and problems after I come to a complete stop that it will take time going into gear. i heard everything from the problem being O2 sensor to Fuel Sensor connection.
Either way this is really dangerous. The last two weeks I have been in major intersections, pulling off and pulling out and almost ending up in serious accidents because of this problem. The RPM's go up but it is like the car is in neutral. Sometimes it happens while actually on the highway moving at 65 mph.
I know it is not unique to me or my Rogue. It is a systemic problem but I am now starting to be fearful of letting any of my family members drive this car. I will give Nissan one opportunity to fix this and if they can't it will be the quickest resale/trade in ever.
This is really scary stuff and I'm not squeamish. I thought it was bad gas but after at least 4 gas/fuel system treatments its not that and it's not better.
I feel in danger.
Anyone else?

This problem has been going on for over 3 months now and when I took it into my mechanic they said that I needed a new transmission and the whole thing would cost me $6000 or more. I did not have the money at that time and just kept driving. I am now the main driver as I know what to expect at the stop signs or stop lights when I go to accelerate. My wife says that this problem does not happen if you do not drive faster than 60MPH !? Yes you try driving on the Interstate at 60 and see the looks that you get.My daughter does not drive it anymore because of this problem. I do not drive to work using the freeway but do have sections of roadway where it is possible to do 70MPH, THEREFORE I am aware of the possibilities of this problem happening and drive accordingly. This is my third NISSAN and love the brand and cars but this has made me look at the manufacturer with a new vision. If this has been happening for some years and has a lot of other people complaining about the same problem surely (please don't call me Shirley) they should do something about the problem. I know that the majority ownership of Nissan is FRENCH and they have a lax attitude to problems, but this is beyond lax.

I dont have my VIN # needed to setup the account because my car is in the shop. Like others it appears I have a problem with my CVT. I noticed the problem shortly after buying it, took it to the shop and they could not duplicate the problem. It seemed that the car had problems accelerating after it was stopped. It typically did this if you were either stopped on a hill or if you stopped after driving on the interstate. After dealing with it for a while a light came on in the car (sorry I forgot which light and my car isnt here for me to look at). Anyways I took it in and they fixed the problem with the light. My car seemed to do better accelerating on hills after this. The problem still persisted with accelerating after being on the interstate. Took it in, again no fix. I recently took my car about 2 hours from home. Stopped in the first hour to get something to eat. I had to stop at the light off of the interstate and when the light turned green my car would not go anywhere. So I missed the first light because it wouldn't go and half of the second then it finally moved. When I got to my destination I took it straight to the Nissan dealership. They have had the car for a few days and came back saying they need to replace the Transmission Cooler Assembly. They initially said it would be $1300 to replace because it was not covered under the extended transmission warranty, they did however come back and said they looked into it and it is covered under the warranty. If they have extended the warranty because they are aware of the problem I do not know why they would not just recall it to ensure the safety of their customers, but I guess that is not their priority. My parents also have a 2010 Rogue with the same exact problem. This leads me to think that this is affecting more cars than Nissan is making it out to be. All I can say is my next car will NOT be a Nissan.

Youngblood Nissan in Springfield, MO. Service guys said one thing about warranty coverage and general manager of dealership said another. Tried to "strong arm" me into total transmission replacement instead of repair. I have my car in for routine maintenance and NOTHING had ever been said about signs of a problem. When I first called to report the problem (before the car totally refused to move) they suggested pulling over and letting the car cool off before going on and checking the serpentine belt ASAP as that was likely the problem.
When I decided to have seals replaced I SUDDENLY needed work on the cooling system and have an oil leak "oil everywhere" according to mechanic.
I feel like I'm being blown off because I'm a female. This is MY car and they need to understand that they will deal with ME!
I have lost confidence in this dealer due to multiple little things they find that I know don't need to be done because I have just done them at home!!!!! Wiper blades and cabin filter are good examples!!

Twice within a week after driving about an hour on the highway, getting off on the exit ramp and being stopped at a light the car would not accelerate. It felt as if it were stuck in neutral or park, pressing the gas down nothing would happen. No lights came on and no strange noises. Both times I placed the car in park then back in drive and it started moving again.
This was very dangerous, had it happened on the highway I could have been hit or even at a stop light with someone accelerating when the light turns green but I'm not moving.
I took it to the dealer, they could not replicate the problem but said a transmission code came up noting the transmission control module needs to be replaced, it is covered by the Nissan extended warranty for these CVT transmissions so there is no cost to me.
It was scary and made me not feel safe as it was unpredictable, it happened on a Monday, then again on Friday of the same week, didn't happen at all the following week.
The part is on order and should be overnighted and replaced tomorrow. Apparantly several other Rogue consumers have noted similar issues with the result either being this, a stop light switch, valve body replacement or complete transmission replacement.
We'll see if this works or if the issue continues. If the issue does continue, I'll post the new complaint and findings.

It seems to only be happening after driving for 40 minutes or more so we didn't discover the problem
until recently. It starts losing acceleration, won't go above 50 on the highway. When we stop after getting
off the highway the transmission won't engage. This is supposed to be our main car and it's a big let down.
