I bought this Nissan Rogue in February 2008 when it was newly released. Before purchasing this care I had the option of buying a Toyota RAV4 or Mazda CX7. I opted for the Nissan rogue with hope that Nissan will stand by me considering it is a new product. Things have not been well since I purchased this car. First, it is their dealership and maintenance technicians who are so rude and always wanting to rip me off anytime I took the car in for servicing. The first time I heard the noise coming from the transmission back in march when my car was still under 120000 miles, the dealership told me it will take them a week to run diagnostics to determine what is actually the problem. Considering that this is the only car I have, it will not be possible to leave it at the dealership for a whole week. I decided to drive home that day. The noise got increasingly worst and I decided to contact a local auto workshop. They charge me less what Nissan was supposed to charge and told me the transmission is the problem. Then, I took the car to another Nissan dealership to find out what could be done about the problem. I explained to them that I already know the problem is from the transmission and therefore would like to know what it will cost to repair it. The service manager insisted that they must run diagnostics to determine the actual problem before they can make conclusions. They charged me a $100 + to tell me what I already know after waiting for 2 hours. The annoying part is that they told me it will cost $3000 to order the parts from Nissan plus the cost of installing it. I called Nissan cosumers affairs to complain about the problem and was told that my car is out of warranty and therefore Nissan cannot help me. My car was 600 miles over the stated warranty limit, how sad. I am very disappointed with Nissan and their business ethics. The day I took my car in for repairs , I was checking out the Nissan titan truck hoping to upgrade to a truck. With this development I am so glad I did not commit to that truck. It would have been another roller coaster of a mess. This is a problem they are aware of yet, they keep selling this crappy cars to people. The problem is that I don't know what to do with this nonsense rogue now. I have just purchase a new 2016 Toyota Tundra Limted and I am very happy. At least, I am sure of support from manufacturer and dealership. Someone tell me what to do with this crappy rogue. I am thinking of going to abandon it at Nissan cooperate office or wherever the are located. Nothing in this life will make me or anyone I know attempt another Nissan product even if it is for free.

I had no issues with my 2008 Nissan Rouge until it started to make this horrible vibrating, grinding sound when accelerating and only at a certain rpm. It is embarrasing and annoying.

All I want is that they fix the transmission. It make a loud noise when I accelerate.
