The dim lights are dangerously low and are a hazard to night driving. This is known problem for Nissan and to NHTSA. I am wondering what the criteria is for enforcing a safety recall. Does someone have to die" or cause a fatal accident? or does it have to be multiple accidents" I am frustrated and at my wits end trying to get some well deserved attention to this matter.

I was driving on a highway and noticed heavy smoke coming from the front passenger side by the headlights. I pulled over and fire started shooting up. I was told 'it's electrical and nothing to do with the front end that was being worked on' which was 4 days prior. Also I was told there's no recall on that particular area.

The contact owns a 2010 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that there was a substantial amount of water in the passenger side headlight. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the headlight needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 60,000.
