Rogue LS 2.5L

  • CVT transmission
  • 150,000 miles

I BOUGHT THIS USED CAR ON 10/2015 FROM A NON-NISSAN DEALER WITH NO DRIVERS MANUAL. ON 6/2016 TOOK TO NISSAN DEALER WHO INDICATED THERE WAS A SMALL LEAKAGE FROM THE TANSMISSION OIL PAN. NEEDS TO BE DONE BUT NO HURRY.

IN MAY 26, 2017; THERE WAS A BIG GUSH OF OIL THAT WET THE DRIVER SIDE OF THE TIRE ALL THE WAY TO THE BACK OF THE CAR (ON DRIVER SIDE). CHECKED ENGINE OIL TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHERE THIS OIL WAS COMING FROM; WHEN WE CHECKED THE TRANSMISSION OIL LEVEL IT SHOWED EMPTY SO I WENT TO AUTO PARTS STORE GAVE CAR INFORMATION AND WAS GIVEN A CVT OIL AND I BOUGHT TWO QUARTS.

I WAITED TO TUESDAY SINCE IT WAS MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND AND CALLED TUESDAY TO SET UP APPT TO HAVE CAR LOOKED AT BUT WAS NOT GIVEN APPT UNTIL FRIDAY 6/2. WHEN I ARRIVED AT SERVICE,( I WAS GREETED WITH A LETTER OF HOW GREAT OF A DEAL DEALER HAD FOR ME WITH A SALES REP'S CARD).

LATER IN THE DAY I WAS CALLED THAT I NEEDED TO PAY $3,000. TO HAVE A NEW TRANSMISSION BECAUSE I HAD USED THE WRONG COLOR OF TRANSMISSION FLUID (RED VS GREEN) AND THAT WAS NOT COVERED BY MY EXTENDED WARRANTY SINCE I USED WRONG FLUID COLOR AND THAT WAS MY FAULT AND THAT DRY DIPSTICK DOES NOT MEAN EMPTY TRANSMISSION FLUID. .. WENT BACK TO AUTO PARTS STORE AND EXPLAINED THEY CHECKED COMPUTER AND IT INDICATED AGAIN THE SAME KIND OF OIL AND THEY EVEN SHOWED ME THAT ON THE BACK OF THE LABEL THAT IT INCLUDED NISSAN..

I TOOK CAR TO ANOTHER AUTHORIZED SHOP AND THEY INDICATED TRANSMISSION COOLER WAS ROTTEN AND I NEED TO PAY $12000. TO FIX.

I AM VERY DISSAPOINTED. I AM NOT A MECHANIC JUST A LADY THAT NEEDS THIS TAKEN CARE OF WITH THE RIGHT INFORMATION AND NOT BE BLAMED FOR . SHOP DID NOT EVEN KNOW THAT THE FLUID FOR THIS CAR IS GREEN!!!!

IN READING ALL COMPLAINTS I ACTUALLY THINK THESE KIND OF CVT TRANSMISSIONS SHOULD NOT BE BUILT AS THEY ARE VERY EXPENSIVE FOR THE CONSUMERS I CANNOT EVEN TRADE IN CAR AS IM STILL PAYING AND NO DEALER WANTS TO TOUCH!!!!

Rogue

  • CVT transmission
  • 58,000 miles

My son was driving the car about 80mph on the interstate with the cruise control set. The car kicked the cruise control off and the car would not accelerate. He pulled over and let the car cool down and was able to drive home. When I took the car into my mechanic and he ran the diagnosis he came up with a code 744 torque converter clutch failure. I had purchased an extended warranty when I purchased this car used in 2013. So I took the car to a transmission shop to have it repaired. The transmission shop told me he couldn't repair it because it was under an extended warranty by Nissan. I had to drive 50 miles to the nearest Nissan dealership to have them look at it. Nissan cleared the code and told me to drive it until the problem replicated itself. I drove it another couple months and the issue again replicated itself. So I took it in again to the Nissan dealer. This time they ordered the parts to fix my car but unfortunately the parts are on backorder and not expected to arrive for at least 2 months. This is frustrating! I can drive my car around town without any issues but driving 2-3 hours away to visit family is impossible because the transmission acts up on longer trips when the car gets warm. The dealer said the parts are backorder because of such high demand for the parts required to fix the issues. Nissan only replaces the parts, there is no rental car provided to replace the car while repairs are being made. It is very frustrating. my car has not been repaired yet... waiting for parts to arrive.

Rogue Chrome 4CYL

  • CVT transmission
  • 123,000 miles

So I have left a summary complaint already. We have needed two different transmissions for my Rogue...one at 78K, and now another at 123K. The replaced trans only has 46K miles on it. Nissan won't cover it as the car is over the extended warranty initiated by Nissan cause they know the trans in these vehicles are fatally flawed by 3K miles. I am fighting this BS! I used to love Nissan...had two Muranos before this Rogue. I will not be buying Nissan any longer, and will deter others at every turn...

I brought the car in for an oil change and 2 recall notices, and was informed I needed a new transmission and transfer case because of excessive corrosion. Buyers take note.
