The warranty says 3 years or 60k which ever occurs first. If it was the only Rogue that had the rust showing in that area, but so far out of 4 other Rogues that are the same year with different mileage from 32k to 80k the rust is showing in the exact same location at the lower edge of the taillights on the tailgate. Since they are all showing this problem, this indicates a bad design which we are forced to pay for. I have had GM, Dodge, and Mazda vehicles and have never seen corrosion this soon on a vehicle. Living in Northern Ontario this vehicle was definitely not designed to be used in our winters.

In April 2015 I bought a used 2012 Rogue from Gordie Boucher in West Allis, WI. I didn't even have it a year when the deck lid (tail gate) started to show little spots of rust. I noticed 3 little rust spots at first, now there are about 7. There is also rust at the corners of the metal piece on the the tailgate. I took the vehicle in on 3 separate occasions. The service dept manager said he would call and follow up with me, never received a call. They referred me to get a rust estimate under warranty $705. When I inquired why I was never called back they said they never got an estimate, but when I said I was emailed an estimate 2 weeks ago they magically found it. They said they took pics and submitted them to Nissan, when I asked what the follow up was, they claimed they didn't have a record of that visit. The third time I followed up with them I was told the dealership couldn't do anything about it. They admitted it is a common complaint and they have even newer models with the problem that are being fixed that are still under warranty. I have had cars that are 15 years old and never had this problem! If Nissan knows this is a problem, they should fix it for free! I will never buy another Nissan.
