Rogue SL 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 10,000 miles

Drove my first ever brand new vehicle home, parked it in the garage, opened the rear driver's side door for my daughter to get out and noticed the cover that was to be on the track the rear seat slides on was broken off, on the floor. Called the dealership, drove right back to show them. A new cover piece was ordered and I was notified it was in and I could pick it up. Both my husband and I attempted to install the cover piece with no success so I drove to the dealership the next day and asked the salesman for assistance. He was also unable to install the piece as were two additional service bay representatives. It was evident the little plastic piece that was to hold the cover in place has been weakened by the attempts to install it by the "white line" appearing where the plastic piece attached to the actual cover.

My vehicle was taken to the back where a service technician installed it. This piece lasted approximately 6 weeks before breaking yet again. I had to fight with the dealer for the item to be warrantied as "interior items are hard to warranty, especially once 10,000 miles and 6 months have passed." Needless to say, I was more than frustrated as this was the SECOND time the issue had arisen in the 5 months I had owned the vehicle. The part was again replaced under warranty, but only after the dealer informed me they were pretty sure the issue was my child was stepping on that cover and the issue was not with the accessory piece. That made me furious!

And here we are just 5 short weeks later and the piece has once again dislodged and the little plastic nub that is supposed to hold it in place has again broken off. The dealer will not provide a fix under my warranty regardless of the fact there are 12,000 miles on the vehicle and I have only owned it since Jan. 6, 2014.
