Rogue SL 4 cyl

Very first ever brand new vehicle I have purchased...drove it off the lot with 10 miles on the odometer. Three months later, there was a loud, persistent rattle coming from somewhere under the vehicle when traveling at or above 45 mph. It seemed to be louder and more prominent on days when the wind was blowing at a faster speed; however, it also seemed to vary based on the direction I was traveling, proximity to structures around me, etc. Some days I would hear it continuously all day long and other days it would be intermittent.

After more than one trip to the dealer and being told the technician was "unable to duplicate" the issue, I recorded the noise as I was traveling one day and brought that to the dealership. A technician was then sent for a ride with me. She sat in the back seat and heard the rattle nearly instantly. It was determined the heat shield that is under the vehicle to block the exhaust heat from transferring to the vehicle floor was loose/out of place. It was straightened (not replaced) by the dealership and a different type of fastener was used to re-install the heat shield. I have been enjoying 4 weeks of rattle-free driving in my vehicle since it was finally fixed.
