Rogue AWD 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 83,000 miles

As a U.S. Army Veteran and senior citizen I never thought this vehicle would present an economic hardship for me. Replacing a transmission for nearly $4,000 on social security during a pandemic where thousands of jobs were lost, this problem put me in major debt! To think that Nissan knew about this problem with the CVT as early as 2013 and still sold these vehicles without mentioning it to their consumers, is extremely dishonest and disingenuous!

I have read multiple complaints and lawsuits regarding Nissan's negligence and continued failure to address these costly repairs that have been passed on to unsuspecting consumers. Yet, Nissan still has not corrected this problem or even reimbursed their innocent buyers! This is a major crime. Nissan Is A Rogue for selling these Rogues!

Rogue SV 2.5L

  • CVT transmission
  • 84,136 miles

This junk my wife and I bought 2yrs ago would stall coming to a stop most times at first, thought it was water in the gas tank. Car would feel like its starving for fuel, choke/ stutter and lurch forward, low idle speed when at a stop then off it went. After restarting the Rogue and shift into Drive, it would shake and stall. Same would happen if you start and put in Reverse. Shakes and stall. I would have to wait a moment after starting, leave it in park, then shift gears or try putting it in low gear to respond. Didn't really notice early signs until I didn't have the radio on and heard this sound after coming to a stop. You can hear I guess the flywheel spinning to a stop.

Took it to Nissan Dealer they told me it was the Torque Converter going (BAD). At the time the only thing they could do is the Trans fluid and filter change and told me maybe it might last 6 months if that, and that it would need a new trans, at $5200.00. Vehicle problem now is at 84136 miles. No more Nissan for me. I'VE seen these problems too many times on YouTube like crazy and still no end in sight for the CVT Transmissions Blues.
