I bought my 2015 Nissan Rogue in January. In March while on a parkway it loses power. I try to accelerate and it won't go over 20, I miss a flight due to this issue. I took it to the dealer where I bought it and apparently they ran a diagnostic on it and it came all good, nothing to worry about.
A month later after my car guarantee has expired, it happened again and its really annoying and dangerous, especially if you're driving on a highway going 60 and, in a blink of an eye, your rogue decides to drop speed and to not go over 20mph. I'm really pissed at this.

Vehicle would not shift, would not go at all and left me and my kids stranded without warning.

Murphy's Law, when you need to get to the place before it closes, the Rogue won't shift out of 1st gear and high RPM's! Really, of all the gears!!! So, I'm going the same direction as the nearest Nissan Dealership, so I stopped and turned it off, came back and started it up and started driving; well what do you know, its shifting smoothly; WTF!
Went to the dealership anyway and left if overnight. Next morning, Service guy calls and says no codes, could not reproduce, working as designed(WTF!)WORKING AS DESIGNED!!. So, he suggests that I should replace a Brake sensor that 'could' be the cause of the vehicle not shifting and it costs $70, not covered! Yeah, right! So, I had long talk with Service Manager(SM) and all he could say, "I know that's not what you want to hear", but without any codes I can not submit anything to Nissan Corp. SM said that a TSB to reprogram the TCM to catch codes was performed in August.
My question, how do you know its working after the reprogram? Blames the software engineers??? So, I gotta wait til it happens again! WTF! Drove it home, livid! Got home and decided to get out my OBD scanner and see what I can find. So, I do a live scan with the Rogue running. 30 points are being captured and I noticed 2 thing; 1) MIL(Malfunction Instrument Light) is OFF, 2) Distance traveled from cleared codes (3 miles), the distance I traveled from the dealership to home! WTF, if there were no codes, why would they be cleared? There are several TSB's associated with the terrible CVT Transmission on not only Rogue, but Altima's, Murano's, Pathfinders. Nissan, supposedly has extended the Drivetrain to 100K! Well, we need documentation.
What do I think; I think the reprogramming suppresses the logging of the codes on the transmission, since the MIL is turned off, hoping/knowing the statue of limitations might run out before they have to payout!
I'll keep you posted on the next occurrence!

This was my first and will be my last Nissan. This is incredibly annoying. After driving for an hour I notice the car would not accelerate from a stop. I remember waiting for the advanced left turn. The arrow finally turned green and nothing. I held up all the cars behind me because the damn rogue wouldn't go. I did everything I could. I shifted back to park, then to reverse, then to drive mode but nothing. I even turned off my engine and restarted it and nothing all while in the live lane. In the end I stopped the engine for a few minutes after missing my left turn opportunity and let the car think about what it's suppose to do when the driver steps on the gas pedal.
Aside from this issue, the damn car squealed like a pig that couldn't s**t every time I turned the steering wheel.
Yeah, needless to say but I'll say it anyway. I will not buy another Nissan.
