This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Nissan dealer.
So disappointed that such an expensive failure occurred at such low mileage.

I purchased my vehicle in 2016 brand new. Not even a year into owning the vehicle, at 12,497 miles on 5/1/2017, my AC stopped working and nothing was blowing out of the vents. The part that was repaired/replaced on my invoice states, "RPL THERMISTOR/THERMO CONTROL AMPLIFIER".
The AC stopped working a second time at 14,976 miles on 8/14/2017. This time, the part that was repaired/replaced on the invoice states, "RPL FAN & MOTOR".
My AC stopped working a third time at 54,644 miles on 6/10/2020. The part that was repaired/replaced on the invoice states, "RPL BLOWER RESISTOR/CONTROL AMPLIFIER." This time, I finally reported it to Nissan and they gave me a "goodwill adjust" where they offered to pay 70% of the repairs due to being outside of warranty.
You are never going to believe this, but it happened a FOURTH time at 60,509 miles on 1/4/2021, but this time it was during the winter and the heat would not come out of the blowers. The Nissan dealership that tried to diagnose my vehicle ($140 diagnosis fee) said that they would need to take apart the entire dashboard (which would be 1-2 hours of labor at $140/hour) because they "traced an electrical issue within the dashboard harness, would need further diagnostic in order to confirm repair needed".
Basically, the service advisor who called me from the dealership said that they already need to replace the part that was just installed 6/10/2020 (not even 6 months ago) because it is an electrical issue, they would most likely need to replace the blower motor, and either repair or replace wiring, which could be over $4,000 to replace the dashboard harness. I contacted Nissan again and explained that this has been an ongoing issue since mile 12,497 of owning the vehicle and because they already helped me once outside of warranty, they will not help me again.
Nissan will not stand behind their product and it is truly terrible. This is the third Rogue I have owned and I have never had so many problems. I truly think I bought a lemon and the dealership just put a bandaid on each time instead of actually diagnosing the correct problem in the first place when I brought it in on 05/01/2017. Additionally, I have been researching and have found many other 2016 Rogue owners have had the same problems.
Upon more research, Nissan has published several technical bulletins regarding this issue: NTB15-045b on 03/21/2016, NTB16-033 on 03/28/2016, NTB15-045c on 08/11/2016, and NTB15-045e on 08/04/2017. My VIN begins with "KNMAT". I cannot comprehend why this company will not stand behind their product and help a loyal customer. I will NEVER purchase anything from Nissan again and am telling everyone on social media, car dealerships, online forums, etc. THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING TO A VEHICLE THAT IS NOT EVEN 5 YEARS OLD AND THE ROOT OF THE PROBLEM SHOULD HAVE BEEN PROPERLY DIAGNOSED THE FIRST TIME I BROUGHT MY CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP.

Same issue as so many others. The AC/Heater stops working. Two things happen, first is air won't always blow from the vent you have selected, ie, you have it set to blow at your feet, but it's blowing in your face. Secondly, the temperature won't adjust, whether it's AC or Heat, it will just blow unregulated air. Since the intake is in the engine, during the winter that will put the air as slightly warmer than outside, but not by much. Considering that here in Minnesota, that could mean it fails to defrost the windshield creating a visibility issue, it should be a safety recall. Nissan even knows of the issue, and there is plenty of its prevalence online. Their service bulletin TSB ID #NTB15-045e talks about the "front air control" unit most likely needing to be replaced. I have dealt with Nissan's consumer affairs and they hinted as possibly doing a "good will assistance", meaning implementing the fix for free- but after I spend $120 at a dealership to have it diagnosed. The part costs $50- I could pay the dealership to fix it for less than $120..... so really what they're saying is "!(*@ off". I told them that I really liked the vehicle other than this issue, but their lack of integrity and unwillingness to stand by their products with their owners, means it'll be the last Nissan I own. Is it too much to ask for a corporation to have integrity?

Purchased a used 2016 Nissan Rouge on August 9, 2016 with 65,920 miles on it in Brooklyn, NY. It was a very hot day and AC was blowing out hot air. Mentioned to Dealer that it's running hot air and he said it's because it's very hot and it would take a few minutes to cool down. UNFORTUNATELY, I believed him and drove away. AC never worked and Dealer sent me to their mechanic for repair where I was told that the Compressor was defective. After leaving my Rouge for repair and picking it up after 3 days, the AC worked for one day and I had to return it back to the repair shop was was quite annoying. They kept it for another 2 days and changed the Evaporator Sensor. AC worked nicely for 4 days and stopped working again. Took it back to the repair shop and they kept it for another 2 days and could not find the problem.
This is my first SUV and I and deeply disappointed with the lack of AC, and wish I had known about such problems before signing on the dotted line. Now the AC is NOT working at all. I work as a Makeup Artist and by the time I get to work, my makeup is ruin because the vehicle is so damn hot. Dealer is not providing a loaner and so I have to take an Uber or public transportation to work. I had a Mazda and although it was old, the AC worked perfectly without any problems for the16 years I had it. It bothers me to think that I gave it up for what I thought was an upgrade, only to be sweating bullets in a nice looking SUV with a malfunctioning AC unit. HOW SHOCKING IS THAT!!!
It's been about 6 weeks since I purchased this 2016 Nissan Rouge and I dread driving it because the AC is not work, and I already want my money back.
Any ideas on what I should do next?

After starting the vehicle, after a short stop, got only cold air, with the heat on high. Tried resetting all the heater controls several times, finally got luke warm air only, the car had been driven 50km only 10 minutes prior. Kept adjusting the controls, finally the air went hot, immediately. The air was selected to the floor, but was only coming out of the face vents. Kept playing with the selectors and finally went to the floor vents, as selected. There is a definite, intermittant fault with this system. If we had been driving in a snow storm, the windshield would have iced over quickly, possibly causing an accident.

I have my Nissan Rogue for 2 years I bought it brand new and I been noticing that the heater and a/c is not working as should be. I report it and the dealership told me that they have to check it to see what's going on, but I have to pay $120 just for the inspection. I think the problem is the thermostat but I'm not sure.

Literally freezing in the winter and boiling in the summer. Car is poorly designed. Dealer says everything is normal. It is not. If you live in Canada or close, do not buy.

The fourth time I brought my car in for issues with the air/heating unit I also involved consumer affairs. Currently, Nissan has my car still trying to find the solution to the problem. Its been nothing more than a big disappointment; after this experience I don't think I'll ever buy another Nissan again which is sad because I've owned three other Nissan's without any issues. Something has changed and its left a sour taste in my mouth.

Bought my 2016 Nissan Rogue in July of 2016. In September I realized the air conditioner was not working properly; it would be warm outside and the air blower was not at maximum capacity even though I had it on high. As the air was blowing and the temperature gauge could be set at the lowest cooling setting with warm air. Brought the car to the dealer to address the issue; stated they had to replace a defective hose and the issue was fixed. Not true.

I have experienced a cooling problem in my brand new Nissan Rogue 2016, and brought three different time to the dealership but nothing fixed unfortunately, they have changed the compressor, and cooling/heat switch but nothing change, it happen when the car is off. its annoying, talked to Nissan, and they didn't do anything. asked for replacement if they are unable to fix the problem, and they refuse it.
the worst experience ever got.

Bought this car new 7/2016. Had never experienced this issue prior to a longer than average road trip over 4450 miles each way. Issue began about 250 miles into trip when the AC stopped blowing cold air. Fan worked fine. Resolved the problem by shutting off system about 10-12 min. Proper A/C resumed then continued to reoccur every 15-20 min.
No issue since home on short 10 mi trips.
Took to Nissan today to evaluate issue. Report Evaporator Core Leaking Replacement required to the tune of $3395.34. There have been no accidents or other problems nor evidence of leaking. I have since read multiple similar complaints. This is clearly a vehicle defect in my opinion
