So today I went to the grocery store and while I was closing my trunk lift gate as I always do so, when it came down and closed the entire rear door shifted to one side and it did a loud clunking noise like the door didn't latch or fully close. As I reopened the lift gate to check what might of gotten stuck, I instantly thought maybe a grocery bag had tipped causing the door not to fully close but that wasn't the cause. I didn't think anything bad of it so I retried closing the trunk and it closed this time.
When I got home and was about to start taking the grocery bags out of the trunk I saw my passenger side taillight had a huge chip on its edge. I have my last free courtesy service tomorrow and I'm not sure if my warranty will cover it or if the service advisor will believe me when I tell him. I hope its covered by the dealer or by my warranty because one OEM tail light assembly is over 200 dollars.
Please if anyone has experienced the same as I did reply to my complaint so I get further understanding in this. Also forgot to mention that every time I open my lift gate it does a loud creaking noise like it lacks lubrication on the hinges or the struts. Don't really know if that could've caused the shifting accident to occur but its not okay.
