Rogue SL

  • CVT transmission
  • 80,000 miles

I will never invest in a Nissan again.

I bought a Rogue 4 years ago, worked my ass off to pay it off in two years. Right after it's paid off, the 'computer system' in my engine ruptured. It was so bad to the point that I was driving on the highway, all of my warning lights came on, I pulled over and my push to start WOULDN'T TURN OFF MY CAR. So my engine is smoking, my car will not turn off (there is no easy kill switch,) I'm struggling to get my dog out and away from the car incase it explodes, the fire department is called - has NO idea how to turn my car off and stop the smoking. My brother, whose an engineer, came and ended up finding some sort of kill switch way down in the engine. When Nissan looked at it and replaced the computer system (2k out of my pocket) he said "good thing you found a way to turn this off. It would have blown up the engine." Okay? cool.

Coming up on today, where I have only owned the car for a little less than 4 years. My transfer case fails. Great! Here goes another $4500 to stupid Nissan. Most unreliable car ever. So a good 24k down the drain for not even 4 years under my belt.

Shame on you, Nissan

Rogue

  • CVT transmission
  • 92,123 miles

I just purchased the car in 2019 and I barely drive it only to work and back has 92,000 miles and recently my car just started jerking and when I put the car in drive and hit the pedal it wouldn’t move. So I took my car to a mechanic and was told my transmission is no longer good and not many places want to work on my car because they are saying my transmission is a cvt.

Rogue SV

  • CVT transmission
  • 72,000 miles

My 2016 Nissan Rogue started jerking and shaking due to the transmission slipping apparently on our way home from vacation. We look it and it is a very common problem in A TON of Nissans including the Rogue. But of course my car is out of warranty so they can't do anything to help. I even went to Nissan Consumer Affairs, top of the top, and was told because I am out of warranty that there is nothing they can do to help me! They were so rude and acted like this wasn't an issue being had by thousands of other customers.

Long story short, I paid 3,600 dollars because of a known issue! They need to be held responsible considering thousands of their vehicles including the Nissan Sentra, Versa and more, have added a 10 year or 100,000 mile warranty! This problem is everywhere - if you have a 2016 Nissan Rogue, take the time to try and put it out there, maybe on the official recall page. I'm not sure but I will be as well so we can get it recalled and fixed! Mine started at 72,000 miles and they said it starts usually around 71,000 miles!

Rogue SV

  • CVT transmission
  • 84,764 miles

I bought my Rogue recently (7/6/21), used, and it seemed absolutely fine. It drove great, I loved it. My 1 month warranty ran out on 8/6/21 and it started acting up on 8/15/21. I thought at first that something had gotten wet because we had a lot of rain and I'd driven through some partially flooded roads (nothing over the hood or anything like that), but after more than a week it is still acting up. It bogs down, and then revs up, doesn't accelerate like it should especially after stopping at a light or sign, it has stalled out while driving and been a general pain.

I was told by the seller that it is after the 30 day warranty so it's not their problem. I cannot afford another car as I am still paying on this one and I can't afford an expensive repair bill either. I live paycheck to paycheck most of the time. I feel like Nissan should definitely fix this problem since it seems to be reoccurring. I've read a lot of complaints about this since having this problem. I feel very unsafe driving this but I don't have a choice, I have to go to work so I have to drive it. But it terrifies me to put my kids in it while it's doing this. Plus I live in snow country so I am super worried about it doing this when there is snow on the ground - I feel like this will cause an accident. Does anyone have a solution to fix this or any suggestions? I NEED HELP ASAP!

Rogue 3.2L

  • CVT transmission
  • 55,000 miles

We bought the vehicle from a dealer, they said it was a very good car, low mileage. Was very happy but after a couple months the transmission started to jerk, and rev going downhill was a cause for concern. Bought it to dealer and was told it's normal for rogues, no problem.

Noticed a couple months later that it started jerking a lot and had very little acceleration. I bought back to dealer and was told again that is just that transmission. Can't afford to get another vehicle and still paying on this one, don't think it is right for people to have to deal with this issue when the problem is at the least a lemon and should be repaired at Nissan expense to improve the relationship with their customers.

OK SO I PURCHASED A NISSAN ROGUE 2016 AFTER TEST DRIVING IT FOR ABOUT 1 WEEK AND LOVED IT! WHEN I FIRST DROVE IT OFF THE DEALER. I LOVED IT AND IT WAS VERY VERY SMOOTH! ROUGHLY AFTER ABOUT 4K MILES OR SO I REALIZED THAT IT STARTED TO HAVE A TRANSMISSION SLIP OR IT WOULD LAG IT TO PICK UP SPEED! MY CAR NOW HAS 32K MILES AND DURING ALL THAT TIME I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER ABOUT 7 TIMES. ON THE 6TH TIME THEY BROUGHT THE REPRESENTATIVE OF NISSAN CALIFORNIA TO TEST DRIVE THE CAR. HE MENTIONED TO ME THAT HE HAS BEEN WORKING WITH NISSAN FOR ABOUT 20 YEARS. WELL BASICALLY HE GAVE ME SO MUCH BULLSHIT ABOUT THE CAR NOT HAVING ANY GEARS AND THAT ITS MEANT TO DO THAT OR WHATEVER! ALL 7 TIMES THEY TOLD ME THE SAME THING! I THINK THEY SEE ME AS A 26 YEAR OLD THAT DOESN'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT CARS OR THEY THINK I WILL SAY "OKAY" TO EVERYTHING THEY TELL ME! WRONG!!!! I SPOKE WITH CONSUMER AFFAIRS(WHICH THEY COMPLETELY SUCK) AND TOLD THEM MY SITUATION. THEY TOLD UNFORTUNATELY THEY WILL NOT REPURCHASE THE CAR FOR ME BECAUSE EVERYTHING IS "NORMAL". I TOLD THEM "LOOK I HAVE A WIFE AND A DAUGHTER, IF ANYTHING HAPPENS TO THEM BECAUSE OF THE TRANSMISSION SLIP AND LACK OF POWER I WILL BE COMING AFTER YOU GUYS" THE AGENT TOLD ME "YOU ARE FREE TO DO WHATEVER YOU WANT SIR". SO I GOT A LEMON LAW ATTORNEY AND TOLD THEM THE SITUATION AND THEY TOOK MY CASE! I SENT THEM EVERYTHING THEY NEEDED INCLUDING VIDEOS OF THE RPM'S AND SPEEDOMETER. THIS WAS BACK IN JULY AND NOW NOVEMBER THEY GAVE ME THE GREAT NEWS THAT NISSAN WILL BE REPURCHASING THE CAR FROM ME. NEVER GIVE UP ON SOMETHING THAT COST A LOT OF MONEY, MY PAYMENTS ARE $500 A MONTH!!!! PLEASE, I HIGHLY ENCOURAGE PEOPLE TO SEEK LEGAL HELP AFTER 4 ATTEMPTS OF TAKING YOUR VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY DON'T DO ANYTHING! NISSAN IS BY FAR THE WORST CAR MANUFACTURER!

I Brought a brand new car from Nissan. The first time was January I got a Green 2016 Rogue. It kept having problems, they put me in a Blue rogue in March 2016. This one had a few problems,. Last week I was almost killed, the transmission just stopped in the middle of the highway I 95 N, I also had a passenger with me. We were traumatized. I took the car to Nissan. The mechanic says its the transmission, and told his coworker this is the 3rd on that transmission was gone in a new car. I want out of this Lease. I haven't drove the car since its at Nissan. They called me and said it was fixed. I advised them They sold me a lemon. I do not want that car, It is very dangerous and I don't feel safe with it. I have kids and grandkids I rather be living than dead...So know you are going to force me to take this POS of a car that you leased me? I advised them that I will be returning the car I don't feel safe. I make my payment before they are due. But they could not work with me regarding this issue. Now you will be putting this on my credit? Really? But you want me to pay for a lemon with a fixed transmission a 2016 at that bran new? Im so irked right now. They also scammed me stating that when I received the second car with the moon roof I would only be paying 413.00 for 6 months. It never went back down to $319.00 I complained about the thief to them he conned and lied to me to Dave the owner and the General Manager they did nothing. They had a criminal working for them that stole millions of dollars from buyers and the elderly. It all over the news. Hes going to federal Prison..Look it Up Ardmore Nissan Criminal..This place is very unprofessional and crooks...And my car is a lemon and they don't care..Im so stressed behind this. Please Help Me I also was advised if I return the car. would the remainder of the payments go toward my credit. They said they have to sell the car? what do they mean. I am leasing I signed a contract. How am I responsible for an entire car? Please help

Rogue SL I4

Readers seeing this post can also refer to my another complaint regarding engine replacement of this new Rogue. I think the pre-mature CVT failure might start from the engine replacement....CVT seal leak occurred a few weeks after the engine repair....the dealer asked me to continue driving a couple of weeks until they thought they confirmed the leak. I believe they should have a quicker way to determine the oil leak. The engine light was on when I drove on a freeway...the code was P0744. At the first time, the dealer just erased the code and did nothing...this added another 500km until the next engine light on. They finally concluded that the CVT needs replacement. Given the fact that engine and CVT are replaced for this 6-month old Rogue (less than 4000 miles), Nissan Canada is arrogant, reluctant to acknowledge this is a lemon, and refuse to do anything, not even mentioning replacing the vehicle. I am surprised that the Canadian laws are so weak to protect the automobile consumers...this might be why Nissan Canada treated me this way. Stay away from Nissan for ever!

New car, 3,500 miles. Left Michigan to drive to Phoenix. In Texas, had problem with the car not accelerating properly. Gas pedal floored, Rpm raising, going slower by the foot. Would not accelerate up hill. Transmission started slipping. Stopped at a hotel. Next day the car was fine until I hit mountains again. Same problem, didn't want to head down the mountains at night in a car I didn't trust. Stopped for the night. Next day, problem was even worse going up the mountains. Got to Phoenix, Nissan dealer on Monday the 12th. They gave us a loaner, all day didn't find a problem. They kept it overnight. No problem found. Really?

Thank God I found this site! Same problem in previous years, transmission overheating. This car now has 5,600 miles on it! I am fit to be tied! The dealership knows exactly what the problem is! Not going to take this lying down. Apparently it's more common in South. They will feel my wrath!

Thank you for being here. I'm sure this is just the first chapter!
