Purchased this car in October of last year. Within two weeks I to take it back because as I was driving a gallon or so of water came pouring into the car. They determined it was clogged drain lines. Now it's happening again and has caused mold to grown in the car. To make it worse cleaning the rear lines are next to impossible for an average person because you can't easily locate them unless you take the headliner down. I've reached out to Nissan and am waiting to hear back from them.

So here's some of my letter to Nissan regarding the Sunroof Leakage issue. Anyone know the best place to send it to? I'm in for a class action also. I'm waiting for a carpet replacement quote(not from Nissan).
While recently driving in rain I experienced water dripping down from the headliner /closed sunroof . Although it could have caused a distraction during driving, fortunately it did not, but upon reaching my destination home I checked and noticed water in the channels of the sunroof. Upon researching the issue I discovered that this model/year Rogue (2014-2020) has a known problem with drains within the roof and pillars that can become clogged. I also found out that the drainage holes along with a caps are behind the firewall so it’s not noticeable or accessible without considerable effort and professional assistance.
I brought the car to (location) Nissan and paid approx. $800.00 to simply have the clogs/ cap opened. I am now faced with another related issue of a damaged interior carpet as unknowingly there’s water routing into the interior carpet and over time creating an impossible issue to resolve without the cost of complete removal. I did not realize how bad it was until I removed the rubber protective mats and found my foot squishing down into the interior floor. So now I am faced with a carpet that must be replaced due to possible mold as well as the car now smells of mildew. I’ve tried to clean and soak up the water with a wet-vac and rug cleaner but moisture remains and the damage has been done as this issue may have existed for a while without any type way of knowing until it was too late.
What is the expectation and responsibility of Nissan as it relates to known issues and customer ownership? How would you expect the owner to know if this problem exist if there is no way to find out until there’s been damage to the car?
As I was not provided any information for future reference at the service center, Please advise on what I can do about this issue. I have other family members that are Rogue owners based on my recommendations and I must now inform them of this problem and prepare them for what may occur and the cost. I even find myself considering telling random strangers I see with Rogues as a heads-up!
I leased, then purchased this car new in 2016 and always tried to maintain a good service schedule and have had minimal problems. Over the pass 15 years I have leased or purchased five Nissan autos, Infinity G37, Altima, two Rogues and my first car was a Datsun back in 1984!
Before this incident I was beginning to look for a new car and I have always have faith in Nissans but based on this incident and some experiences with other Nissan service centers, I am now looking elsewhere and will now caution anyone that asks me about the quality and support of Nissans.
