Rogue SL AWD

  • CVT transmission
  • 80 miles

New 2020 Rogue. Immediately the warning light comes on that the AEB system is not working, at a slight hint of rain or snow. I had the previous model, a 2016, and it worked fine for 3 years, saving my butt many times when I was approaching too fast.

This is one of the advertised features of the car, and a safety related one!

I am going to drive it a bit and then take it to a garage (although I don't see a point, it is a well known problem, and there is even an official safety investigation in the US).

Rogue SL

  • Automatic transmission

Emergency braking system came on while I was driving at 35-40mph out of nowhere. No cars or obstructions in front of me at all. Luckily it did not cause an accident, but it was terrifying. It's on lease & trying to get the dealership to take responsibility is like pulling teeth. I have had this happen twice while backing down the drive & assumed it was seeing the curb or light post & didn't worry about it much. After doing some online searching there is obviously a problem going on. How many people will die before the issue is addressed?

Emergency Breaking System light comes on the entire time of my 30 minute commute to work on the highways. This can cause a terrible accident. Sheehy Nissan of Glen Burnie, MD will not fix because I refuse to pay $150 diagnostic fee when my car is less than a year old and under warranty.
