The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle had experienced "Phantom Braking" causing the braking system to erroneously activate and the vehicle to abruptly stop. During the failure the Forward Collision Avoidance system malfunction message was displayed. Additionally, while driving at night, the high beam headlights failed to automatically activate as designed. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 133,321.
