I noticed that my car was often unlocked after I knew for a fact that I locked it. I also had a problem with the right passenger door not unlocking even when the unlock button was pushed. I would often have to physically unlock that door on its own. After this happened for about a month, the car now opens even if I have locked it, with some of the doors causing the alarm to sound, even the door easily opened. I am concerned about safety especially when going out late at night or leaving my car parked in public lots. The problem was confirmed by the dealer when I went in for service. They inspected it and told me the door lock actuators on the back doors are bad. After looking this up, I see that there is a class action suit pending for this issue. There were no warnings prior to this happening.

During a recent trip I noticed a "fluttering/rattling" noise coming from the top of the windshield of our 2021 Nissan Rogue Platinum. The noise was very noticeable at interstate highway speed and on rougher road surfaces. While looking for the source of noise I found staining on the driver side headliner and interior front pillar garnish. Took Rogue to dealer and was told that the seal for the attachment clips for the roof rack were leaking into the interior. Leakage had damaged headliner and gotten into the airbag. The roof racks would have to be removed and sealed and the entire headliner, front pillar garnish, and the airbag replaced. The total repair would cost approximately $4,000. Since the Rogue was 45 months old with 20,500 miles it was out of warranty due to its age. The dealer told me that I would be responsible for the cost to repair it since it was out of warranty. I contacted Nissan Consumer Affairs to see if they would cover the cost since the leak was caused by a design and/or manufacturing defect. Nissan agreed to pay 90% of the repair but I would be responsible for the remaining 10% (approximately $400). I told them this was unacceptable and that Nissan should be responsible for the entire cost of the repair. Nissan has refused my requests to cover the full cost of repair. An internet search revealed that Nissan was aware of the defect and had issued a Service Bulletin (NTB21-097, dated 10/20/21), which was a few months before we purchased the vehicle. Since the leak can allow water to damage the airbag it is a serious safety issue. The airbag may not deploy properly during an accident or could suddenly deploy for no reason and cause a crash. Nissan should take full responsibility and pay the full amount for the repair since it is a known design and/or manufacturing defect. Nissan should issue a recall for affected vehicles.

2021 NISSAN ROGUE SV FWD 5N1AT3BAXMC6*****. Water leaking inside interior During rain storm in upper left drivers side corner of vehicle. Shifter delayed when shifting into PARK, NEUTRAL, REVERSE, or DRIVE and shifter assembly indicator lights are out. Reference NTB21-069A. This is a known issue. A corrupted Shifter Assembly has caused this vehicle to display multiple warnings such as CVT warnings, shifter position warnings, front and rear crash sensors unavailable, and a multitude of other electrical system warnings. Communications with Nissan consumer affairs and Nissan service departments both of which state the vehicle is out of warranty and repairs for this known issue will be charged to customer despite evidence this is a manufacturing defect known to exist within this year make and model.

There are leaks at the corner of the top windshield through to the inside of the vehicle. Problem is reoccurring with rain and when vehicle is washed leaving the interior of the roof and side panel lining the windshield wet potential causing internal water damage to electrical components and creating mold and mildew buildup that is not yet visible. This creates an extreme health risk for the general population but especially for my child and myself who are highly allergic to mold and mildew. The outside of the vehicle appears to now be rusting due to this issue as well. This issue was first reported to the dealer within the first month or so of purchasing the vehicle in July of 2021 and taken in for inspection, along with several other issues, however was not noted on the service report for the technicians to inspect and was missed. Was officially inspected by the dealership in June 2025 and was told it is the roof rails that are leaking, this is a common issue, and likely was due to the vehicle being parked outside and probably had leaves trapped inside contributing to the leak, however this began within the first month of purchasing the vehicle new.

Nissan had improperly installed the roof rail mounts on the 2021 Nissan Rogue causing leaks to occur into the vehicle. These leaks lead to mold accumulation on the interior and quickly becomes a health hazard. Nissan had released a Technical Services Bulletin for this issue; however, they have not yet issued a recall for this. We took our vehicle in for a mold issue and provided the TSB details to them, but they were not willing to warranty the issue as the vehicle had just dropped out of the 3-year warranty period. The estimated repair costs to resolve this issue is over $3,000 dollars and mold toxicity poisoning had occurred due to this manufacturing defect of the vehicle.

On numerous occasions, my roof was leaking right at the A pillar. This water was getting right into the side air bag, as well as where the electronics for speakers are. The vehicle spent almost 13 weeks at the dealership and took lots of trial and error to finally find the issue. It was eventually found to be the service bulletin issue in the roof rail. My concern is silicone sealant could fail, causing this to leak again. Who knows what mold or rust issues may be hiding inside, causing structural concern over time. The fact that these vehicles have this well known issue but have not been recalled yet is concerning.

Side view mirrors vibrate to the point of distortion making it harder to see vehicles. The problem is in the pedestal mount attached the doors which act like a tuning fork and need to be updated to wider base pedestals to mitigate vibration like other vehicles that have door mounted mirrors. Please help its very dangerous.

Left and right rear wheel well rubber weatherstrip moldings have fallen off twice. The piece comes off at highway speeds with the mounting screw exposed. Recently, in a rain storm, the vehicle became momentarily unstable as the right side molding came off and was run over. Fortunately, the screw did not cause a tire puncture. I have noticed the weatherstrip missing on numerous Nissan Rogue's indicating that this is a common occurrence. Dealer has fixed as warranty issue both times. Reported to manufacturer as complaint.

The fuel door cover flew off the 2021 Nissan Rogue while traveling the speed limit on I-71S between Columbus, OH and Cincinnati, OH. Prior to leaving my residence I verified that all doors and covers were secure. 3 hours into my drive on I-71 every safety warning lit up and sounded on the car, the cruise control disengaged, and in my mirrors I watched the fuel door cover skin land on the pavement and be destroyed by the semi that was behind me. Speed 75. I was in the middle lane caught in the wash of air coming from semis travelling beside me and in front of me. I contacted Nissan USA and they say they have not heard of anything. I spoke with the dealership and they just blew it off. This could be a serious issue if these trim panels come off the vehicles and cause an accident.

The A pillar was leaking and has since been addressed by my local dealer adhering to the service Bulletin, however there are hundreds of other owners of the 21 and 22 Nissan Rogue experiencing the same thing with many having reoccurrences after 6 months. My concern is mildew/mold forming. It took months for proof of leaking to show (colors from Carwash bled through).

1. Rattling noise. Front driver door rattle around the window switch area (happens in some temperature like early morning, late night time, and driving on rough road). Center dash near the ac vent and hazard light area (happens driving on rough road at night time when the car cools down). Front passenger door rattles happen driving on all rough road. I think I hear something from the sun roof too or maybe it-??s coming from the passenger side. 2. Passenger door sound like there is something loose around the mirror area. Just Park the car. You can hear it outside at night time when you close the door with normal force. 3. Driver side under the kick panel there is a plastic pieces not putting together right. It looks like it falling apart. 4.Driver door there is a little hole on the inside leather. I notice it when the car is like 2 days old when I was washing the car. 5. On the driver side fender is making noise when you push on it when the car is parked and at lower temperature time. 6. The engine oil thing keeps showing up. Sometime it says service due now or sometime it says service due soon. (First time it happened at 151 miles into this new car. Second time around 300 miles then around 500 miles then 1264 miles into the car then 1387 miles then 1779 miles then 2225 miles then 2477 miles). 7. The AC sync button light does not turn off when tri-zone ac is not in sync. 8. The AC light is not on when on auto mode. 9. The new Nissan digital dashboard at night time light does not dime right. there is a software issue. 10. propilot assist will pull the car to the left if there is a car next to my left. If there is a car on my right then it will pull me to the right.
