Single car accident was the result of malfunctioning AEB system. Upon turning a 90° right turn, on an inclined, dirt road, I encountered an average size deer. The weather was clear and it was about 9:15pm. I tried to swerve toward the right, to prevent clipping the animal with my vehicle. As I was on a dirt road, I was aware of potentially sliding should I use the brakes to prevent hitting the deer. However, the frontal collision prevention sensor must have been initiated, as my brakes automatically engaged, causing my vehicle to slide the opposite direction of the way I had turned the steering wheel. The vehicle slid until it fell into a shallow two foot trench, causing the vehicle to land on the driver's side. The vehicle only stopped when it became airborne, landing in a tree on private property.
I fully believe had the tree not have been where it would, my vehicle would've continued to roll, as the road was on a hill, in the mountains. Upon impact the side curtain airbags did deploy, unlike the frontal airbags, probably the only thing that prevented me from serious injury. I was driving approximately 24-27mph when the AEB system was engaged. I lost all control and ability to prevent an accident. Had my brake system not been triggered I believe that this accident could have otherwise been prevented.

Bought car to dealer and they acted stupid about it but they cleared the check engine code and told me they need more time to fix it. This just so happens to be 3000 miles over my warranty. Go figure.
