More than an incident, I-??m concerned it might turn into one. For the past few days, I-??ve noticed something unusual (nothing serious for now) with the engine/transmission. When I shift to Drive, the engine seems to jerk a bit or takes a moment to engage the gear. There-??s a slight delay, but it doesn-??t feel normal. I-??m worried because a friend who owns a Rogue had a similar issue, his car wouldn-??t start, he took it to the shop, and they told him the engine needed to be replaced. My fear is that this might be the same issue and that it-??s related to this recall. I just spoke to Nissan America, and they told me there-??s still no solution and that I should call back between August 15 and 18 to check for updates. That seems like a long time for something that could potentially be serious.

My vehicle abruptly went from 65 to 30 while driving with my children on the expressway. The check engine light and three other lights came on, and the car wouldn't start for an hr or so, and then it wouldn't accelerate past 25-30 miles, while all the check engine light and the other lights continued to stay on.

when getting an oil change. I was told buy the technician the oil pan bolt is defective due to a screw being stripped. This has been a known issue with the Nissan Rogue. Many complaints have been listed online with this particular issue. I was told by the technician the oils pan is made of hard plastic and is a common problem

On the morning of 6/18/2025 approximately at 545 am central time my 2023 Nissan Rogue SV lost complete power on Interstate 59 South in Alabama near Gadsden just past the one lane construction zone. No warning lights or check engine lights just had sudden engine noise and seen my rpm-??s were holding at 3000 and not accelerating anymore. The noise stopped when the car went into limp mode. I was able to pull over onto shoulder and turned off vehicle. There were no visible leaks or signs of overheating. So called a tow truck to take me to nearest Nissan dealership. After several attempts of trying to crank my engine technicians discover a blown head gasket. Also note since owning vehicle there has been issues with engine misfiring and a spark plug blowing on cylinder 3 around 20k miles.

The vehicle a Nissan Rogue SV 2023, with a turbo engine constantly decelerated a number of times. sometimes it gave a warning and other times it does not. The first time it happened I started the engine, and the car crawled like a turtle. Even while pressing the gas pedal, it did not go any faster. I stopped the car very perturbed of what to do. I turned the engine on and tried again, and it accelerated as it normally does. This occurred multiple times on different occasions. Vehicle was taken to the dealership on multiple occasions with no solution being offered. I got really frustrated at the dealership because you are the makers of this vehicle which is decelerating for no reason and continues to do so and you claim the reports you run are showing nothing to resolve the issue. I should not be scared of driving my vehicle which is still under warranty, or when an accident occurs and God forbid a life is lost. The uncertainty of this happening again is not known. I wrote to Nissan Consumer Affairs at their headquarters and was told that they could do nothing about it under the Lemon law. The vehicle would have to be repaired about 4 times before they would do anything. This is ridiculous. It is their manufactured vehicle. Now I am seeing that the vehicle 2023 Nissan Rogue with the turbo engines are being recalled for engine failure. I was told that I will have to wait until I get a letter from Nissan with my VIN number before they will look at it. Please help me get this resolved. Thank You.

I am reporting a serious safety issue after three service visits to Star Nissan. Most recently, on July 8, 2025, they performed a full transmission replacement under warranty (see invoice attached). Since receiving the car back, it now makes creaking noises, vibrates severely under acceleration and deceleration, and is completely unsafe to drive. The shaking is so bad I can feel it under my feet and seat, especially at highway speeds (40-?"50 mph). The car did not have these symptoms before the transmission repair. They claimed they did a test drive, but that is obviously false. This is now the third time I-??ve had to return this vehicle for drivetrain-related issues, and I-??ve been told to -??wait until July 15th-?? with no resolution while my car is dangerous and undrivable. I-??m reporting this as a potential safety risk, negligent repair, and breach of warranty, and I want Nissan investigated for returning vehicles in this condition. I-??m afraid to drive it and feel completely ignored. This dealership needs to be held accountable, and Nissan should be required to take responsibility before someone gets hurt

I have the smell of raw fuel coming engine after engine is shut off. The is very noticeable inside cabin area, and outside of car if it is in garage. This problem has been brought up to my Nissan dealer each time I bring it in for sevice. I recieve the same answer each time there nothing from Nissan on this issue. The smell of gas is over bearing at times, and I'm afraid that it may catch fire. This has been a ongoing problem since I purchaced the car new.

While on the highway heading to Florida....... all kinds of lights came on and reduced the speed. It was hard to understand what happened but I made it to the Nissan place halfway through the trip. They couldn't do much and had no loaners but the reset the codes in my car. As it was cleared..... everything went back to normal as of nothing happened. But on my way back home..... it happened again. This time I couldn't make it to Nissan but I made it to auto zone and a local shop in Orangeburg. They received 13 different codes. Again.... there's was nothing they could do so they man reset the codes in my car. Clear the code n I made it home safely with my family.

Subject: 2023 Nissan Rogue SV -?" Thermostat and Oil Temperature Sensor Failure I am reporting a mechanical failure involving our 2023 Nissan Rogue SV that may represent a broader safety concern. We purchased the vehicle used, in excellent condition, with the goal of traveling safely with our two young sons. Just 31 days after purchase, and only 1,800 miles into ownership, the thermostat assembly and oil temperature sensor assembly failed without warning. The incident occurred over 900 miles from our home and 450 miles from our intended destination, leaving our family stranded far from support. We brought the vehicle to Windy Nissan for service, where we were told it was the third 2023 Rogue SV with under 70,000 miles to come in that week for the exact same failure. This strongly suggests a recurring issue that may affect a wider number of vehicles. Given the vehicle-??s age and mileage, this failure was unexpected and raises concerns about reliability and safety, particularly for families traveling long distances. Sudden failure of key engine components like these can result in engine overheating or shutdown, posing risks during highway driving or remote travel.

I was sold a 2023 Nissan Rogue last July From *** Nissan of Topsham ME. that had a faulty main seal/head gasket which allowed exhaust, coolant and freon vapors to be blown into the car effectively creating a gas chamber. 31 days after my purchase at service appointment to fix defroster I was told "all the coolant leaked out of the resevoir and we don't know where it went, you should keep an eye on it". I was never told further diagnostics were needed at that time however once I realized what was going on and decided to file a complaint with the Maine attorney general's office, I looked over paperwork from visit that day and mechanics notes stated "coolant may be leaking into engine further diagnostics are needed". Let me explain that I am a courier and drive my car all day every day staring and stopping it as I make deliveries. I drove the car around poisoning myself with fumes for 7 months. I began to feel ill in November when I started using the heater more. I was completely exhausted (literally) and didn't know why. I also was having cognitive difficulties and sleeping 10-11 hours a day. In Jan 2025 I developed white spots on my tonsils and the back of my throat felt as if it was scorched. I began having uncontrollable muscle twitching and my hair and eyelashes were falling out, I still did not realize what was wrong. At the beginning of Feb. I smelled strong fumes, I immediately brought the car to ******Nissan in Las Vegas NV. where I was at the time, I left the dealership that day having been told once again "we don't know what's wrong". I have come to learn that both dealerships knew what was wrong and were just ignoring the problem. The car had the engine replaced not once but twice, the first engine had no compression, the 2nd also had the same terrible smell. I have been poisoned and lied to. I now have multiple health issues. Car surrendered [XXX] ********** C.U. Westbrook ME. All paperwork to support claim available. PLEASE HELP! INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATIO

I am reporting a recurring issue related to the oil drain plug design on the 2023 Nissan Rogue. During a routine oil change service, the technician at Midas broke the oil pan drain plug, resulting in the need to replace the entire oil pan. This was not due to technician negligence, but rather a reflection of a poorly designed or overly fragile drain plug and oil pan combination that is prone to damage during standard maintenance. This is the second time this has occurred, and it has become clear that the design lacks durability and fails to withstand the basic functions required during oil changes. Although Midas covered the replacement this time, this is not a sustainable solution, as owners should not be expected to risk hundreds of dollars in damage during a basic service procedure. There are numerous reports online of similar issues affecting other 2023 Nissan Rogue owners. This appears to be a design flaw that could lead to repeat incidents and unnecessary financial burden for vehicle owners. I am seeking acknowledgment of this issue by Nissan and a permanent resolution, whether through a redesigned part, recall, or official service bulletin.

Traveling on highway in Washington DC, cruise control shut off and powered down car, electrical warning for rear doors not closed, seat belt and airbag warnings. Engine lights came on by the time we got into NY, gas fumes in cabin, and oil was down 2 quarts. Car would not go over 40 at times. Car has been at dealership for over 65 days with work done to turbo, cvt transmission, bearings, leaks in headliner, oil consumption and electrical issues, etc. NCA and BBB claims filed, only given some of the work orders as dealership and NCA refuse to provide anything. Defect Form sent to NCA as well. Independent mechanic also reviewed car after it was initially returned to me for less than a week. Mechanic supplied a write up and pics confirming the transmission and oil leaks as well as leaks in engine and electrical issues were not resolved. In addition, the car now has water leaks on headliner and it smells moldy. Please note: this site only allowed me to add 1 document. I can provide all documents if you provide an email or link to do so. Thank you

The issue began [xxx]. I drove to Napa, stayed for about 20 minutes. When I started the vehicle again and started driving on the highway it was revving but not going above about 10 mph. Had to pull off the road. I waited a few minutes turned it off and back on and it drove normally and I got back home. It's been doing the same thing intermittently since then but more often and throughout the day or drive. When I come to a stop at a stop sign or light and start driving again it will get stuck in 1st gear and not switch out until I turn the vehicle off and on again. This has happened in traffic several times. The dealership has not been able to diagnose it or fix it since they have not been able to reproduce it. They have kept it overnight three times I believe and once had a tech take it home for this and other issues including issues with the proximity sensors that they also haven't been able to correct. No warning lights appear. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

There is an intermittent smell of gas/exhaust fumes in the cabin since purchasing the car. Nissan says there is no issue and offers no fix but I have never owned a car that had this type of smell in the cabin unless there was something wrong. The smell can be so bad as to cause nausea and headaches.

The contact owns a 2023 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35-40 MPH, the vehicle started lagging and lost motive power as if the vehicle would shut off. The continuously variable transmission (CVT) code was displayed on the instrument panel with an engine malfunction. The failure occurred the following morning. The vehicle was towed to the dealer however, the dealer could not retrieve the CVT code to determine the cause of the failure. The dealer stated that the transmission fluid would be flushed and refilled as a temporary repair until the vehicle could be diagnosed and CVT code had been retrieved. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 58,000.
