Also this is the third time I have to have my tires replaced in 5 months of time this last one was brand new tire but dry rotted ! I will be getting a legal advisor involved as well as Better Business Bureau. I was sold a 2023 Nissan Rogue last July From *** Nissan of Topsham ME. that had a faulty main seal/head gasket which allowed exhaust, coolant and freon vapors to be blown into the car effectively creating a gas chamber. 31 days after my purchase at service appointment to fix defroster I was told "all the coolant leaked out of the resevoir and we don't know where it went, you should keep an eye on it". I was never told further diagnostics were needed at that time however once I realized what was going on and decided to file a complaint with the Maine attorney general's office, I looked over paperwork from visit that day and mechanics notes stated "coolant may be leaking into engine further diagnostics are needed". Let me explain that I am a courier and drive my car all day every day staring and stopping it as I make deliveries. I drove the car around poisoning myself with fumes for 7 months. I began to feel ill in November when I started using the heater more. I was completely exhausted (literally) and didn't know why. I also was having cognitive difficulties and sleeping 10-11 hours a day. In Jan 2025 I developed white spots on my tonsils and the back of my throat felt as if it was scorched. I began having uncontrollable muscle twitching and my hair and eyelashes were falling out, I still did not realize what was wrong. At the beginning of Feb. I smelled strong fumes, I immediately brought the car to ******Nissan in Las Vegas NV. where I was at the time, I left the dealership that day having been told once again "we don't know what's wrong". I have come to learn that both dealerships knew what was wrong and were just ignoring the problem. The car had the engine replaced not once but twice, the first engine had no compression, the 2nd also had the same terrible smell. I have been poisoned and lied to. I now have multiple health issues. Car surrendered [XXX] ********** C.U. Westbrook ME. All paperwork to support claim available. PLEASE HELP! INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATIO

I am reporting a recurring issue related to the oil drain plug design on the 2023 Nissan Rogue. During a routine oil change service, the technician at Midas broke the oil pan drain plug, resulting in the need to replace the entire oil pan. This was not due to technician negligence, but rather a reflection of a poorly designed or overly fragile drain plug and oil pan combination that is prone to damage during standard maintenance. This is the second time this has occurred, and it has become clear that the design lacks durability and fails to withstand the basic functions required during oil changes. Although Midas covered the replacement this time, this is not a sustainable solution, as owners should not be expected to risk hundreds of dollars in damage during a basic service procedure. There are numerous reports online of similar issues affecting other 2023 Nissan Rogue owners. This appears to be a design flaw that could lead to repeat incidents and unnecessary financial burden for vehicle owners. I am seeking acknowledgment of this issue by Nissan and a permanent resolution, whether through a redesigned part, recall, or official service bulletin.

Traveling on highway in Washington DC, cruise control shut off and powered down car, electrical warning for rear doors not closed, seat belt and airbag warnings. Engine lights came on by the time we got into NY, gas fumes in cabin, and oil was down 2 quarts. Car would not go over 40 at times. Car has been at dealership for over 65 days with work done to turbo, cvt transmission, bearings, leaks in headliner, oil consumption and electrical issues, etc. NCA and BBB claims filed, only given some of the work orders as dealership and NCA refuse to provide anything. Defect Form sent to NCA as well. Independent mechanic also reviewed car after it was initially returned to me for less than a week. Mechanic supplied a write up and pics confirming the transmission and oil leaks as well as leaks in engine and electrical issues were not resolved. In addition, the car now has water leaks on headliner and it smells moldy. Please note: this site only allowed me to add 1 document. I can provide all documents if you provide an email or link to do so. Thank you

The issue began [xxx]. I drove to Napa, stayed for about 20 minutes. When I started the vehicle again and started driving on the highway it was revving but not going above about 10 mph. Had to pull off the road. I waited a few minutes turned it off and back on and it drove normally and I got back home. It's been doing the same thing intermittently since then but more often and throughout the day or drive. When I come to a stop at a stop sign or light and start driving again it will get stuck in 1st gear and not switch out until I turn the vehicle off and on again. This has happened in traffic several times. The dealership has not been able to diagnose it or fix it since they have not been able to reproduce it. They have kept it overnight three times I believe and once had a tech take it home for this and other issues including issues with the proximity sensors that they also haven't been able to correct. No warning lights appear. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

There is an intermittent smell of gas/exhaust fumes in the cabin since purchasing the car. Nissan says there is no issue and offers no fix but I have never owned a car that had this type of smell in the cabin unless there was something wrong. The smell can be so bad as to cause nausea and headaches.

Component/System Malfunction: I own a 2023 Nissan Rogue and have experienced excessive engine vibrations since the beginning. Despite multiple service visits, the issue persisted, ultimately leading to a complete engine failure at 64,000 miles. Safety Concerns: The vibrations and power reduction warnings compromised safety. My car eventually broke down in Vail, CO, leaving me stranded in freezing weather for four hours while waiting for assistance. Dealer/Service Center Findings: At my first service visit, the dealership diagnosed a transmission mount issue and claimed to have fixed it, but the problem remained. The check engine light appeared twice, along with an -??Engine Power Reduced-?? warning. The dealership found no immediate issues. At 64,000 miles, my car broke down, and the check engine light reappeared. The dealership initially couldn-??t find the problem but later performed a compression test and quoted a $10,000 repair estimate. Manufacturer/Inspection History: I reported the issue multiple times before my warranty expired, but Nissan failed to take corrective action. Now, just 4,000 miles past the warranty, I am being asked to cover the full cost, despite having records proving I reported the issue earlier. Warning Signs Before Failure: -??Heavy engine vibrations at startup and idle. -??Two check engine light incidents. -??-??Engine Power Reduced-?? warning message. -??Complete breakdown at 64,000 miles, leaving me stranded in cold weather for four hours. Conclusion: This defect was present from the start, yet Nissan failed to address it. I request an investigation, as this may be a widespread issue affecting other Nissan Rogue owners.

Due to new manufacturing of the oil pan being plastic. The threads of the plugs are breaking the plastic pans. Causing the plug to be unable to be placed back and new oilpan to be installed. Oil pans are on 3+ month backorder giving apperance this is a very common issue.

I took my car to the Nissan dealer because sometimes when I am stopped with my foot on the brake the engine will start to accelerate trying to overcome the brake. The only thing I can do to stop this is turn off the engine. This has happened 4 times in the last month and not before. The dealer was unable to find anything wrong and could not duplicate this action. I have now been referred to Nissan consumer Affairs, Bureau of Automobile Repair, New Motor Vehicle Board and now your agency, I feel that this vehicle to drive because it could cause damage to me, my car and the the public. The last time this occurred I was stopped coming out of shopping center waiting for the traffic to clear when the car started accelerating which would have pushed me into the oncoming traffic. Hopefully, you'll be able to help me as now of the above mentioned agencies have been able to help. The only date I can give you for certain was 12/23/2024

On December 31st, 2024, we came out from the grocery store to our 2023 Rogue which we had been running errands in all day and the car wouldn-??t start. We then tried to give it a jump, replaced the battery, and checked fuses. None of these helped so we had it towed to Firestone. The tech there stated he found coolant in the spark plug wells and told us we needed to have it sent to the local Nissan dealer we bought it brand new from. After the Nissan techs inspected the car, we were told it needs a whole new engine. The car has had proper maintenance and oil changes its entire life and only has 61,000 miles and now it needs a new engine due to premature engine failure.

While driving down the highway going approximately 55 MPH, the vehicle lost power in the middle of the highway and shut off completely, with a sudden warning that said -??Engine Malfunction.-?? The vehicle stopped in the middle of the highway and smoke began filling the cabin, leaving me to believe there was a fire under the hood. I evacuated the kids out of my car and pushed it off to the side of the road, then called the fire department. When the vehicle was towed to a Nissan dealership they discovered that there were many large metal chunks in the oil pan and the engine needed to be completely replaced. The vehicle only has 50,000 miles on it and is technically covered under powertrain, however Nissan is trying to get out of covering the replacement of the engine. There have been many documented cases of this exact thing happening to this make model and year Rogue. Nissan needs to take responsibility before someone dies. This incident was incredibly dangerous and could have ended catastrophically had I not pushed the car off the roadway.

The contact owns a 2023 Nissan Rogue. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic for a routine oil change and was informed that the oil pan drain plug was made of metal; however, the oil pan threads were made of plastic. As a result, oil was leaking from the oil pan due to the threads being stripped. The contact was referred to the dealer who acknowledged the failure and agreed to replace to oil pan under warranty; however, the oil pan was replaced with another oil pan with the same issue. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was 19,990.

I'm seeking reimbursement for purchase of new oil pan, $618.99 plus tax. From further investigating, the main issue is Nissan chose to use plastic oil pans in this vehicle. I took my vehicle to Walmart for oil change and company would not complete due to they reporting previous issues with Nissan Rogue oil system. They told me there was a recall. I called Carmax, place of purchase, and was told no recalls. I called Nissan dealership and was told no recalls. I then took my vehicles to Suns Auto and reported what was told to me by Walmart. Suns Auto said soon as they touched the oil plug it exploded off and they were unable to replace. This caused all of the oil to drain out annd therefore making car undriveable. At that point, if I wanted to drive my vehicle, I had to pay for replacing oil pan which was $618.99. I've been trying to get some type of compensation from all mentioned above but no one is taking responsibility. Neither would compensate or work with me on minimizing my out of pocket cost. I hope you understand my dilemma and assist. Very disappointed, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I have only owned this vehicle 7 days and am returning it. After receiving this car and driving to 35 miles I noticed an intense smell of gasoline in the cabin of the vehicle. I at first assumed it could be exhaust from other cars. I stopped and waited a moment began to drive again and the smell permeated the cabin. The smell made me nauseous. I got home and called my local Nissan dealership and read online to check the dip stick for a smell of gasoline. Pulled the oil dip stick and the oil was diluted the viscosity was extremely runny and smelled strongly of gas. After reading of similar issues with this product I explained to the dealership I no longer wanted this vehicle and have sent it back because of this issue. In the week I attempted to drive the car the fumes did not stop were not subtle and were persistent. The experience was not pleasant and left no sense of dependability with this product. Nissans dealership stated it was an issue they were aware of and that I could bring it in for them to complete diagnostics and testing. I explained that if they were aware that any dealer prior to selling these cars should have inspected these vehicles for this issue if it is known and ensured the vehicle was safe. I feel I was sold a faulty unsafe product with known issues regardless of my safety. Nissan was once a reputable brand if the deal ship was aware of this and Nissan is aware of this they should automatically recall and adjust the issue quickly to ensure they take care of the consumer. I will not consider purchasing another product from this brand.
