I have recently taken in my 2017 Rogue Sport into my dealership after finding my AC was not working. After the dealership inspected my car, I was surprised to have been told the cause of this issue was an impact from a rock to the air condenser, especially since I never heard an impact, and that the factory warranty would not cover the repair. After researching this on my own, I noticed there are many accounts of this same issue for Rogue customers. I am disappointed in how common this issue is and how expensive the repair cost is.
I would have hoped Nissan would take measures to prevent this kind of damage from occurring to the condenser due to the frequency and severity of the damage. The dealer recommended I file an insurance claim, but from my point of view this option is not worth the deductible and increased premiums. Now I’m going to have to replace the condenser and hope this doesn’t happen every 10,000 miles.
I definitely will not be buying Nissan in the future.
