I purchased a new throttle cable from pierces Nissan on 10/01 and installed it myself. I noticed immediately that the throttle cable was very stiff and hard to move. Before starting my car I checked operation of accelerator pedal and found that the throttle was slow to return to idle position. Upon further investigation I noticed that the new cable was lubricated with a very heavy grease that impeded movement of the cable. During the winter months that followed the throttle returned to idle so slow that it was dangerous to drive the car. During the these past summer months it is somewhat better, but still sluggish to return. I have contacted my dealership several times and they have ordered three replacement cables, all with the same proplem. I have also contacted Nissan motor company twice with no results. I feel that it is very dangerous to continue driving my car with the winter months approaching. Any help would be appreciated.
