The contact owns a 1995 Nissan Sentra. While driving 15 mph, the driver and passenger side air bags deployed without warning. No crash occurred. The vehicle came to a complete stop while the contact was still depressing the accelerator pedal and the engine was running. The vehicle filled up with residue from the air bags. The driver sustained bruises on both hands and her left breast. The current and failure mileages were 245,801.

The consumer was taken to the hospital with injuries to left arm and two broken bones in left hand. Police report was taken by hillsborough sheriff dept.

Consumer contacted salesman at the dealership where purchased, but has not gotten a call back. Consumer spoke with the service department, and was told vehicle was never serviced for the air bag. Mechanic in the service department stated that radiator support must have been hit in order for the air bag to go off.

Airbag light began flashing - dealer wants over $800 to repair. I feel this should be covered by the manufacturer as part of the safety equipment.
