This vehicle, since the first year I got it, has started squealing esp. during the winter/colder months(Nov-April). At first I didn't think much of it, as it would go away within 10 minutes of starting and heating up.
Over the years I've noticed that once the blower motor kicks in and/or the back defrost is turned on, the squealing happens at much more frequent rate.
I've found that simply turning the back defrost off and back on again can get this to stop(TEMP FIX ONLY, it obviously needs to be looked at but when it's taken in, they have said it's fine, "it's working right now") for a short while, but this has become very annoying to continually have to change back and forth, off and on as frequently as it happens here in Montana. Also turning the main heat system off and back on again if the back defrost doesn't kick it to stop has gotten it to work right.
Safety is also compromised with this one, as another solution that has been implemented is to let off the gas pedal temporarily while driving and once the engine revs down the squealing dies out. This problem is very bad during winter, esp. when you stop at a stop sign/light and the car out of nowhere starts squealing.
