My 2007 Nissan Sentra 2.0S is the very first brand new car I have ever bought, my first car was a Nissan Sentra, which I drove until the transmission finally gave out at 300k miles! Because of how dependable that car was to me I decided to be loyal to Nissan and buy my first brand new car from them. I just turned 75k miles, have regular oil changes and started hearing this strange ticking coming from the passenger side front by the engine. I took my car into Nissan who then told me that my "motor was going bad" but failed to tell me EXACTLY what was wrong with it, but the did not hesitate in telling me that it would cost me $6500 to have a new motor installed. I have a 5 year 60k warranty which obviously expired by 15k miles however I am still within my years. I, nor the 3 other mechanics outside of Nissan that I had look at it, have ever heard of ANY car having a "bad motor" with only 75k miles on it! The car then began losing rpms and stalling out occasionally at a light or at initial start up, once the car warms up the ticking noise disappears until you slow down at a light or make a turn. I made a claim into Nissan after I was told no good faith gesture would help me without warranty, Nissan Corp. pretty much told me to go screw myself because all my oil changes WITH receipts weren't good enough because I didn't have any service work done with Nissan themselves, I went to the same place I have been going for years for all my vehicles. So, here I am left with a 07 Nissan in my driveway, that I still owe money on, that I can't drive, and can't afford to fix. I put my faith in Nissan and I got screwed. I will NEVER buy another one of their cars and I will make sure NO ONE I know that is thinking of purchasing one of their cars drives home in one. After reading all the complaints on these cars I am so surprised that Nissan has yet to step up to the plate and correct this issue.

My 2007 Nissan Sentra (about 25K miles) started experiencing noise coming from the right side of the engine compartment. It started as a slight thumping when in Park or Neutral (cold engine) and increased to an annoying bad thumping even in Drive (Hot or Cold). Took it in to the Dealer to have it checked (about 33K miles) and I was told that the engine mount is broken and only a little piece was found. Asked if this part is still under the warranty? I was told that my "WARRANTY" just expired and the engine mount is not covered even under warranty.
If this is a problem with other cars with the same year and model, then "Is this a defect?"

How can a car with 25,000 miles have a motor mount that has disintegrated? They couldn't tell me how it happened. I first heard the noises after traveling down a washboard dirt road that I have driven on with every car I have had in the last 20 years and only the Sentra's mounts broke. I had thought I had damaged the transmission, the noise was so bad.
The dealer said it was not covered under any warranty and now I see others have had the same thing.

saying I must have "sludge" in my engine due to lack of oil changes- not true!!!!!!! I am VERY good about changing oil... made them take off valve cover and drop the oil pan to prove no sludge. guess what? Clean as a whistle- no sludge (I took pictures)!!!!!!!!!! So.... now what??? they did a compression test and said it ran High... says they need oil change receipts before Nissan will approve a replacement motor. The company (HONEST to God...) went out of business and I cannot contact the owner!!!!!!!!! Service manager is saying it's up to Nissan whether or not they will approve it without the receipts...after all the same complaints I have read- I wonder when they will make the issues public.

My 2007 Nissan Sentra developed a vibration and sounded terrible so I took into the dealer that I purchased it from. They immediately knew what the problem was. A broken motor mount. In fact I was told this is very common and that they stock extra motor mount parts just for this problem. My question is why has there not been a recall since this is such a common problem that they stock extra parts. I was also informed it was not covered under my warrenty.

Ok so my car was making a rattling noise, and felt like losing power when accelerating from slow moving traffic. Took car into dealership for regular service (purchase service contract), found out that later on in the day, I have to have the engine replaced, so far no answer as to why. So I googled and found out there are many people having issues with a premature bearing failure. I spoke with the service guy today, and Nissan wanted them to pull the oil pan to see if there was any sludge..really. I am irritated. Not to mention also found out about a recall on the curtain airbag that i was never told about.
I will never buy another Nissan again. Come on Nissan, admit the 2007 Nissan Sentras have many issues, own up to it and fix these cars before someone dies.

I think Nissan SUCKS, I'm always in the service department and they always "fix" it then when i leave i have the same problem!!!! They never seem to know what the real problem is, and im tired of it. literally sucks, right now i have a rental car due to the fact that they suck.... thank you :)

The problem started around 5,000 miles but was not bad. The engine sounded like it was having valve issues. There was a loose rattling noise coming from the engine whenever the engine was revving above 3,000rpms or when it was cold outside. I took it in to Nissan and was told that my 07 Sentra with less than 10,000 miles on it was suppose to sound louder than my '95 Mazda Protege that had 180,000 miles on it. They told me that it was normal for the engine to sound louder.
Anyways, that wasn't that big of a deal, but around 20,000 miles it started sounding like something was about to fall out of the bottom of the engine. There was a horrible rattling noise coming from the bottom of the engine that sounded like my exhaust manifold was about to come off of the engine.
I scheduled an appointment with Nissan and a few days later when they could fit me in they said it was just a heat shield bent and was vibrating against the engine. They 'fixed' it and I drove home. The next morning on the way to work it started again and so I had to go through the scheduling process again and a few days later the 'fixed' it again. Sure enough the next day it came back. It was only after the 3rd try that they figured out that a motor mount had broken and a week later after they ordered the part I was good to go again.
It was covered under warranty but it was annoying to say the least. If you experience the same problem ask them to check the motor mount first thing. I am now at 30,000 miles and no problems so far.
