Sentra S 2.0L

  • Manual transmission
  • 66,000 miles

Oil pressure light flashed for a second as I came to a stop at the bottom of hill, when I got home I checked the oil and found that it was 2 quarts low. Looked online and found that many people have had blown engines/ burnt cylinders because of this well know problem. Going to call the local Nissan dealer tomorrow and see if I can get a compression test done on each cylinder to make sure the motor is still ok while it is still under warranty.

Sentra 2.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 35,000 miles

Bought a 2008 Nissan Sentra, started having a funny noise, the service engine light was on,took it to the mechanic he put it on the machine to read the code. We were told it was number four coil. had it changed did an oil change a tune up the whole works. Went back when the light came on again and it was reading the same code. The mechanic told us the light would have to be reset it was fine. Week later oil was low put more oil in, took the car back to mechanic now he tells us the car needs a new engine. I feel that a car with this low of miles should not have these problems. If I had known or read these reports I would have stayed away from this car. Bad

Sentra S 2.0L

  • CVT transmission
  • 59,327 miles

Brought a brand new 2008 Nissan sentra Feb 2008. I have 59,327 miles on the car,

just made the 60k powertrain warranty. My car shut-off at a red light on Oct 27 (twice). It started up again right away...But why is this happening?? I immediately phoned the Nissan service dept...guy said it may be electrical problem or need the battery reset.

I had the car towed to dealer on friday, and was told that I need an ENGINE. I've regular

maintenance on the car and now this...I HOPE NISSAN STANDS BEHIND THIS WARRANTY. If not, I am out of a $6,500 bucks! ouch!! And still have a car note to pay. And it's apparent that there's a major issue with their engines...with excessive oil consumption. Technician did not say, the word defect, but based on the horror stories I've read on several message boards...this problem is HUGE!
