While driving from New York to Florida July 6-7, 2019 my sister who was around the wheels at the time brought to my attention how accelerator was floored to the ground and vehicle was unable to go above 80mph. At that time I wasn't even really particulate on placing premium fluid instead of regular and usage of Lucas oil whenever I fill up at gas station until a couple weeks after returning from Florida. However on my way back from Florida July 14-15 situation got worse. At 60mph engine would lose power to the point I had to use 4 way flashers and pull over at times to allow engine to cool off. So by taking advice from mechanic and others I started placing premium fuel and use a small amount of Lucas oil treatment every time I fill up. The problem seem to went away for about 10 months till today July 14, 2020 where I start to experience the issue again. Vehicle slows down at times to 60mph while driving on the highway to the point I have to put on 4 way flashers. I look under trouble shooting in my Haynes Repair Manual Sec 14 Engine lacks power and it gives a list of possible reasons for defect to include Fuel filter clogged. The filter isn't replaceable; the fuel pump module must be replaced Chapter 4. Not sure if this is the real problem. Any suggestions?
