Sentra SR

  • Automatic transmission
  • 30,500 miles

About two months ago fuel pump stopped working at 29,000 miles, had to replace at $612.00. Nissan fails to admit that there is a problem with the fuel pump. Yesterday July 7, 2017, driving to Key West, almost 50 to Key West the car started to hesitate and lose speed, pressed on the gas and it was hard to press, kept pushing on gas, car accelerates and then slows, kept pressing couldn't speed, decided to turn back home, and it still wouldn't accelerate till I took my foot off the pedal and pressed again and the car started to accelerate speed and continued on. It seems that these companies like Nissan, Kia, will not support your claims. I submitted a claim from Kia, because of issues with the Sedona, and had to go through the BBB for results, which I will do the same for Nissan. Fuel Pumps don't stop working at 29,000 miles! All the cars I have owned never had to replace the fuel pump. When I bought this Nissan I ran into an array of problems, luckily they were under warranty. Also called Nissan about the problem, but they insist that the car must be towed to Nissan. When you start losing reliability of a car you don't patronize that Company. Want to see what Nissan says! Since the Fuel Pump is part of the drivetrain, it should be under warranty.

Sentra Limited V6

  • CVT transmission
  • 2,000 miles

I bought the 2013 Nissan Sentra in January of 2014. Less than 2,000 miles on the car and it lost speed and would not accelerate in heavy, rush hour traffic. Towed it to dealership and was told it was the cooling fan. After that repair, the problem occurred several more times, always on the highway. Finally, it happened in heavy traffic on the freeway, going through San Jose. A near accident as I tried to get over to the shoulder of the road, and then it suddenly started to accelerate, but continued to respond poorly to the gas pedal. This time, the dealer replaced the transmission, and 2 days later the heat shield fell off while driving. Within a week the problem with the acceleration recurred, while going 40mph on the highway.
