Sentra LS

  • Automatic transmission
  • 82,820 miles

I was on freeway with 2 of my grand kids and my car started jerking. I got off the freeway the off ramp I would have needed to get off to go home. As I turned left I pressed on the gas pedal car wasn't moving at all but the RPMs went up to 5 or 6k. Mind you this is only a 2 lane street and very dangerous. Was stuck in the lane and luckily this elderly woman pulled behind me so my grandkids and i can get out off the road. Then another couple towed my car into a gas station.

This is in the middle of the desert - we were stuck there for 5 hours and it cost me over $250 to tow my car home. Then I had to have my son pick us up because my grandkids and I couldn't ride with tow truck driver. My grandkids ages are 4 and 8 - it was a long day. It took a total of 7 hours to get home compared to an hour in a half.

Sentra ES 3.2L

  • CVT transmission
  • 29,000 miles

The car was a gift from my parents. I started driving the car around August. I noticed the "Lull" when trying to accelerate, wasn't smooth, trouble getting up hills, and merge ramps onto highways. As I sit here doing some research I came across the Nissan Versa issue, then found more about the Sentra. This explains everything. I'm having the same problems! I definitely think Nissan needs to go back to the "extended warranty on the extended warranty" offer. I love the car, but hate the engine. Can the engine be replaced with a different engine under the warranty?
