I have owned the car for just over four months. The Manufacturer claims the Fuel Mileage on the car is 30 MPG local 40 MPG highway. I do a mix of local and highway driving. I have averaged 20 to 23 miles to the gallon. I bought the car because of the MPG.
I believe Nissan is wrong with there MPG claims and this should rectified for others who are thinking about buying the car... In their manual they provide tips based on everyday driving these tips are unrealistic. I have been a loyal customer of Nissan and I am very disappointed over this. I sent them an email in regards to this and I am also very disappointed with there response. All cars I have owned in the past the MPG was approx 2 -3 miles off per what the Manufacturer states.
To get the MPG they state I should get out of the car and push it...

I have almost put 500 miles on my new Nissan Sentra 2014, bought about 2 months ago. The Manufacturer claims the Fuel Mileage on the car is 30 MPG local 39 MPG highway, which makes average 34 MPG.
During the first couple of weeks I had mix of highway and city and got around 28 MPG. After that I was driving only in the city and It is very disappointing to see my car is now giving me less than 20 MPG in the city driving! (sometimes it goes to 16 - 18 MPG). I have checked my manual records with the trip computer readings and they both pretty much go together. That means I have no doubt about the trip computer readings but the actual fuel system.
I have to be honest about my driving city were it has lots of stop and go places and low speed limits (20-40 MPH). Even with that I am wondering about this significantly lower MPG than it was advertised.
