Sentra SV 1.8L

  • CVT transmission
  • 52,000 miles

What's soo bad about this, the dealership does not want to fix it for free. why should we be responsible for the repairs when Nissan is at fault. I bought the car in good faith and trusted Nissan. Now I will never trust Nissan again. America needs better long term protection for its consumers.

I have taken the car on two prior times to the Nissan dealer to be fixed. They said they changed up the software and to let them know if it worked. There was no charge for this service. Within two weeks, I had to bring the car back to the dealer. The 3rd time, i spoke to another advisor whom I told what the car was doing and he checked it and said it look like the transmission is slipping. You will need a new transmission. He said it will cost about $5K. I said that is not possible, I am still paying my note. The car just went out of warranty. The car sucks! I had no money to put in to be fixed. I turned the car back into to Nissan in October 2018.

This began happening right after the warranty expired a little after 60,000 miles about a month ago. Was mild but now the car jerks when the gears shift and make a loud noise like a turbo engine whenever the car in turned on.

Sentra SL 4 cyl

  • CVT transmission
  • 25,000 miles

Bought the 2014 Sentra new. The CVT Transmission has shuttered when coming to a stop from the day I bought. Does it intermittently but at least 3 or 4 times during every drive. I thought it would eventually smooth out, has not. I was a fool for ever buying it. Currently In the process of buying a different vehicle so went this one goes down I can put it in the nearest pasture.

Sentra SR V4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 2,134 miles

After a month I noticed a vibration or shake when coming to slow stops. I thought it was a bad gas, but the issue happens even after other gas. It is shaking like it is going to turn off. This issue is not all the time. I took the car twice to the dealer and they don't find anything. Is going to be my third time tomorrow. I hope they find the problem. It's annoying having this problem. I have a lot of witnesses about the problem, people ride with me and they feel that. I am really dissappointed with this vehicle.

When rolling slowly to a stop probably below 5 mph there is a noticeable judder or low frequency vibration. It is not really heard as much as it is felt.

This situation has existed since I bought the car. I didn't think much of it at first, but I keep noticing it and wonder if it is damaging something and will contribute eventually to a mechanical issue that needs attention.

My best guess at whats happening is this: As the vehicle slows the algorithm that runs the transmission (mechanical or software IDK) is trying to decide if a higher or a lower gear ratio is better at the moment. I believe therefore that it is a design issue and not some problem specific to my vehicle.

HI, any help would be greatly appreciated. I have a Sentras. Just like others, it shakes when coming to stop. Went to Nissan. They charged to look at it then, say nothings wrong, but they say the shaking IS NORMAL. Obviously they know about the problem and just take your money. Went on Facebook and everyone should, because people should know about it. PLEASE, ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. GO ON FACEBOOK NISSAN SENTRA AND LET THE WORLD KNOW.

I love Nissan. They have been pretty good to us for the most part but telling my wife she's crazy after reporting this tranny issue is BS.

The car is brand new and it shutter and wobbles at every red light or stop sign. It miss shifts around what would be second to third. I think (being a computer guy) the firmware for the trans needs a flash to a new version.

Service finally acknowledged that there is a problem (they call It CVT Judder) They re-programmed the transmission module, but it's still no good.

They say it's normal for CVT cars to get this "Judder" intermittently due to the nature of the belt pulley system

on the CVT. I don't buy that! There are other cars with CVT's that don't have this "Judder" Anyway, when I test drove the car twice, the demo car at the dealership had no Juddering, shuddering, shaking or whatever they want to call it. The demo was smooth and normal when coming to a stop. If it juddered and the salesman told me that it is normal for the Sentra to vibrate when coming to a stop,

I would have ran from that dealership as fast as possible.

From the day I drove the car home, I noticed a shake or a pulse when coming to slow stops. At first I thought it was maybe something with the brakes, but the issue happens even after you let your foot off the brake, especially after coming to a slow stop. There is also very little power when accelerating. It's almost as if the car is in too high a gear. So far no resolution provided by the dealership.
