Sentra

  • CVT transmission
  • 90,000 miles

Got rid of car at 130,000 when transmission quit completely and bought a 2020 Hyundai Kona.

I was a faithful Nissan buyer (4 new Nissans in my life). Sorry to say, I am all done buying Nissan after that experience.

Sentra Chrome 1.8L

  • CVT transmission
  • 72,000 miles

Hello Nissan lovers (crappy car)

Well bought this car in 2014. Dealers were so about this new CVT transmission, so was I. Then three years later transmission started making some funky noises not even giving any indication of any problems, no check engine light. After taking it to Aamco they test drove it and then gave me the bad news. Had to get a new transmission, he even thought it was weird that there was no check engine light or transmission light that came on. Well after putting in new transmission things were fine and dandy for a year. Tell you more.

Sentra 1.8L

  • CVT transmission
  • 30,000 miles

The car is only around 30,000. I just got an oil change about 1,000 miles ago and I'm not due for another oil change until around 32,300. I've returned to the dealership at least twice due to recalls, the first one was for airbag and the second one they refused to tell me. Now my car is acting up. It's frightening not knowing if I'll be able to make it home from work. It does it the worst when you go up inclines and sometimes it revs up for no reason, even though I'm slowly crawling in traffic and slightly pressing on the gas pedal, I'm not even going 10MPH.

Sentra FE

  • CVT transmission
  • 79,000 miles

Transmission had issues far before the warranty expired. It would shake a bit at stop signs from day one, but really never thought about it after that. It continually got worse, and I took it in, and they stated that there was an update for the computer, and that this particular transmission would not show a warning light if there was an issue. Well, since there is no light, how is someone to know of an issue? I had this fixed, and then the light came on a week later for the transmission, and by then it was too late, and they said that they would not fix it under any kind of warranty.

Sentra SV 1.8L

  • CVT transmission
  • 14,000 miles

I bought this 2014 nissan sentra from nissan of oxnard CA with 9811 miles on it with a 60k mile warranty. the car now has 29800 miles on it and has had CVT TRANSMISSION POS replaced by nissan TWICE and is currently in the shop at the nissan dealer as i'm writing this for YET A THIRD VISIT for check engine light on ,slipping transmission, hesitation, stumbling, rough idle, grabbing/jerking when coming to a stop, horrible gas mileage, rough ride, racing motor for no reason, idle dropping so low it wants to stall and air conditioning fading in and out. this car is the absolute WORST VEHICLE I've ever owned ! and is a public safety issue as well as a completely irresponsible product to offer the public BY NISSAN. i wont even consider buying anything from nissan again. all these symptoms are all true and totally unbelieveable that this has happened to me. the second time the transmission failed, the car was shaking to violently we were lucky we did cause a serious accident or get hurt. my girl friend was in tears.... real bad! THANKS NISSAN! really great product NOT! i cant wait to be rid of this car and this company! believe it!

I can't believe the transmission has gone in a 2 year old car!!! Dealership gave impression this is not uncommon with this year/model. Unbelievable and dangerous! There should be a recall! I'm now without my car for two weeks as it takes at least 10 days for the transmission to come in. Thankfully dealership is providing a loaner!

Sentra SV 1.8L I4

  • CVT transmission
  • 20,100 miles

The CVT transmission broke after 20,000 miles. Yes it was covered under warranty this time but about when the warranty expires. They replaced the entire transmission with a new one. I guess the problem was with the transmission pump (internal) and when they pressure tested it the pressure was way off. I notice the issue with slipping and an occasional clunking (especially in sports mode). I also heard some gurgling and light metalic rattling coming from the transmission while engage and driving.

After it is fixed, I still hear an occasional clunking sound...I am not sure if something didn't get tightened down properly or if the issue is with the suspension --- which I know they had to take apart to get the transmission repaired.

As an FYI, if this was not covered under warranty the repair would have cost $5 to $6,000.
