My sunroof exploded randomly as I was driving home from taking my daughter to school at about 7:30 am on 10/23/2018. I was driving straight on a local highway going about 55 mph. I heard an extremely loud boom above my head. I pulled over in shock thinking that a bomb had gone off near me. I was confused and alarmed to find that my sunroof had completely shattered. There is no evidence of anything hitting my car.

I was driving on I-49 in Louisiana traveling at 70 mph when I hear a loud noise, like a gunshot. I realized my sunroof had shattered. The cover was open at the time so glass fell into my car, and in my lap/hair. I did get a few cuts on my hands from the glass. I don't think anything hit the sunroof, it shattered spontaneously. The dealership says I have to go through my insurance company to get it fixed.
