Purchased from Concordville Nissan in March 2019. Take it regularly for service and called on 11/08/2021 and was told they can't take it to service until 11/30/21. I am afraid to drive it and they couldn't offer me anything sooner. This has given me plenty of time to do research on the CVT transmission and I am seeing complaints and recalls that this is problematic and yet no recall notices or advisement and this is fraudulent. No lights or codes indicating issues either. I don't know why they continue to sell this car, knowing it is defective and causes problems. This repair should be done free of charge as a recall issue as safety is a concern.

I need help - the dealer always say they can't find the problem..

I’m afraid to drive it on the freeway. Because today I was almost hit by a 18 wheeler because it took the car too long to accelerate once I entered the freeway.

I would have never bought this vehicle had I known the issue. At stop sign the take off is so bad that you have to press on the spped paddle very hard to even move the car. The engine light comes on all the time. Nissan should replace all these cars or get it fixed regardless of miles as this is a known issue and they know that they have made a mistake in installing bad system in this car.

What happened?
2015 Nissan Sentra S at 65,000 miles On four random occassions within the past six months I have experienced these two issues while driving the highway at 70 mph, loss of power and hwy stalling. This vehicle's transmission should not be creating this. I have had to stop driving on the highway due to this.

I can't believe the reviews that I've seen about the Nissans and the CVT transmission problem. My 2015 Sentra has only 73,600 miles and I purchased it as a preowned in 2016. I've changed the oil every 3500 miles regardless of whether I can wait longer than 3500 miles. What frustrated me the most, unlike the oil dip stick which is visible in the engine, the vehicle was built with no transmission dipstick. I was told by a lube shop that the only way to check the transmission fluid or even replace it, one has to take it to the dealer, or a qualified repair mechanic.
This is a total travesty and scam by Nissan and should be investigated. I take good care of my Sentra. I Clean it inside and out all the time. If I traded in, I would get a good offer, but with the broken transmission, I'm screwed. I hope if I decide to get the transmission replaced, I'll get a good trade in offer, if I don't and sell it as is, I'm screwed. Good luck to all you Nissan owners out there with your CVT transmissions. I'll never purchase another Nissan or even any other brand name vehicle that has no transmission dipstick. Maybe I'll go domestic in the future. Make sure you check your new purchase to make sure it doesn't come with a CVT transmission, but then again, most imports are now being built with CVT transmissions.
