problem #1

Sentra SL 1.8L

  • CVT transmission
  • 18,000 miles

When cruising down the highway at 80 mph with the Intelligent Cruise Control on and then coming to a small hill, the RPM jumps from around 2500 to 6500 (Red Line) sometimes, trying to maintain the 80 mph speed. I took it to the dealer, and they worked on the transmission and replaced the valve body (which was standard after working on the transmission). Still have the same issue with the Intelligent Cruise Control except the engine only revs to 5700-6000. According to Nissan this is standard operation procedure for the Intelligent Cruise Control. One note: works normally when the outside air temperature is in the 60's or 70's. The problem occurs more often when the outside air temperature is in the high 90's.
