When taking off from a stop there is a violent grinding/shaking/shuddering/rumbling that happens as it attempts to shift into first gear. Might also happen when shifting into second gear - since first gear only lasts a couple seconds it's hard to tell which gear it's having the issue with. Could be both first and second gear having the issue. I don't notice it for higher gears. This could be called "hesitating" because technically it is hesitating - but to leave out the part about it sounding like a machine gun seems...... unwise. Also adding my vote for the hesitating complaint separately.

When it comes to CVT transmission problems Nissan dealerships and probably Nissan Corp blame the customer for the CVT transmission problems. I brought my 2017 Sentra SV in to Flagstaff Az Nissan dealership to check why it was shuddering driving on the highway. They diagnosed the problem as CVT transmission failure. They originally quoted me $8038.66, I questioned the service tech about the CVT lawsuits. I was informed that unless I was part of the lawsuit that had since settled was ineligible for the extended warranty. The warranty on a new trans was only 90 days which sucks. I told them that I couldn't afford the replacement of the CVT trans they informed me of two loan websites to see I could get a loan for the repair. Due to my fair credit score I was eligible for less than half the amount. So, I have a White Elephant parked in my garage. Did call around to salvage yards to see if there were newer CVT trans available. A facility in California quoted me on a 2019 CVT at $2650 but I have to find a shop in my area to do the installation. I still can't afford it!
