This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Nissan dealer.
I was a little confused as to why or how this happened, I take very good care of this car.

This is the third time issue with transmission has happened. Nothing I have done other than drive is cause for these problems. I'm in the dealership every month for oil change/tire rotation and the multi point inspection said transmission fluid okay each time.

These CVT transmission are known to Nissan as being faulty and eventually need replacement, yet they continue to manufacture these models with the same faulty CVT transmissions. The Nissan company had extended their warranty and I came under that warranty with 112,807 miles and yet they denied my claim. I feel that they knowingly keep using these transmissions and should reimburse the car owners for their expenses. They shouldn't have a choice... this is almost fraud!!

Was driving on Hwy 300 and engine would rev up from 2000 to 2700 rpm and then back down again to 2000 continuously while driving 70mph. Finally made it to Albany, GA and there was a loud thump from underneath the car and check engine light came on. Vehicle was still driveable so I took it to Nissan dealership. They had the vehicle for probably 15 minutes and came out to tell me the transmission was shot and would have to be either rebuilt or replaced depending on what Nissan said. Was told there were two other vehicles ahead of mine with transmission problems and that Nissan has had this problem with the CVT's. This is totally ridiculous as the car is less than 2 years old and barely had 24,000 miles on it. This was going to be the last car I purchased but now I don't trust it to be reliable enough to get me around, even if it's rebuilt or replaced. Since 1990 I have purchased 4 Frontiers and 5 Sentra's and am totally disappointed in Nissan as they have known about this problem for a few years now but it appears nothing has been done to correct the problem. It appears that all Nissan's have the CVT so I plan on getting rid of my 2017 Sentra SR Turbo and going with a different brand. My advice is stay away from any Nissan with a CVT!

I brought my 2017 Nissan Sentra brand new out of the box. The car didn't pick up speed like it was suppose too and we took it bad to the dealership the same week. We were told that it takes time for the warm up. Over the years we use the car for college then came the Pandemic and not driving the car. Nissan puts out an extended warranty of 84K miles but we didn't have any issue plus nothing was open.
Final we arrive to 2022 and the car begin to give us problem. Lights coming on and not wanting to drive. Took it to the dealership and we were told that it was the key fob. Really it was the transmission failing. Not happy with the fact we have to replace the transmission in a brand new car. I am mad because Nissan knows that they sold a bunch of TRASH AND WONT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT. DO NOT BUY A NISSAN SENTRA!!!
"RUN WHEN THE SALES MAN WALKS UP TO YOU" MATTER OF FACT, DONT EVEN STOP PAST THEIR DEALERSHIP.
