My 2018 Nissan Sentra has under 60,000 miles on it and is on its 3rd set of brake rotors, as well as had both front and rear brake pads replaced 2 times. The vehicle has always given the warning, front radar not detected alert, until the last 12 months where I began receiving a malfunction warning. My car has been brought to 2 different Nissan dealerships to work on this issue. The current one stating my front sensor is failing & will need to be replaced however there is no warranty on it. I am the only owner of my vehicle and it has not been in any forward collisions. As for the power train/transmission, I received a transmission flush in May of 2023, and now 15 months later was told by a different Nissan dealership it needed a flush as it appeared the transmission was going bad. The vehicle has stalled several times, continuously has a high RMP when accelerating and the AC has gone out a couple of months ago.

My 2018 nissan sentra has 118.5k miles and have been experiencing slight slippage with the CVT since buying it in 2020 with 26k on the odometer. The vehicle had work done by a local mechanic to pass NYS inspection. No warning lamps have been illuminated. The vehicle now, drives under its own power but shakes, bangs and slips into "gear". I have called a local Nissan dealership and they have quoted me of roughly $6500 for a replacement. This has not been taken to confirm that the CVT is the problem but, given all the class action lawsuits against Nissan, it pretty safe to assume its a bad CVT. This can potentially cause a safety risk to driver, occupants and other motorists due to inability to gain speed up to local speed limits or causing issues if the CVT fails at speed. As a consumer of a Nissan product, I have received the warranty extension but, that does not cover my vehicle because they sent out the extension when my vehicle had 115k. Reading the class action lawsuits against Nissan of North America, it states, Nissan has not fixed the issue, they only offer to install a known bad transmission back into the vehicles. This shows gross negligence on Nissan of North America's part and unwilling to make it right to the consumer base. Nissan should recall and replace any CVT equipped vehicle in the owner fleet at no cost to the consumer.

Car abruptly stalled while driving, would restart but fail again upon acceleration. Would only move in reverse. Had this happened two minutes earlier, I would have likely been killed on Interstate 10, luckily I had just exited the freeway. At this point State Farm sent a tow truck, it was brought to the car shop we use nearby. Upon inspection the transmission was diagnosed as failed and exhaust manifold was damaged, possibly due to towing, since car would only move in reverse. There were NO warning signs, just abrupt failure. Repairs for transmission cost over $4000, exhaust manifold still being repaired, estimated at another $900. Only owned the car for three years. My only means of getting to work it needed to be immediately repaired. There were NO warning signs, just abrupt failure.

"What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request"" -Transmission Failure, already repaired as of 05/23/2023, and as such is no longer able to be inspected. "How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk?" -My safety, and others were put at major risk as the transmission completely gave out at 94k Miles as I was crossing the road. As I pressed the accelerator the engine revved up, I heard a loud thud, the car shook, the engine continued to rev deep into the redzone, and then all of the sudden it stopped accelerating and had barely enough momentum to get all the way across the 4 lane avenue. This could have resulted in a MAJOR accident, as I was horizontal crossing the road, and could have been T-Boned. "Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center"" -Confirmed and repaired at Glendale Nissan. -Address: 484 E North Ave., Glendale Heights, IL 60139 -Phone Number: (630) 469-6100 "Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear?" UNKNOWN. The car did sometimes have an issue moving forward from a stop, but I am not sure if that is related. This started happening around 80k miles.

Transmission is constantly slipping. The car has randomly stopped and I have had to shift into park then back to drive in order for the vehicle to move out of traffic. There is no type of warning. I have no engine lights or any other warnings. This has almost caused 3 accidents. I have taken the car to the dealer and an independent mechanic for diagnostics and they are unable to find the issue even with having repeated the problem to some degree. This has been going on for the past 2 months.

While my husband was driving, the vehicle suddenly lost power. He was almost hit by the vehicle that was behind him. He was able to nurse it to the side of the road. There were no warning lights or any other indicators that there was something wrong. We called AAA and had it towed to the nearest independent service dealer. We were told that the transmission was gone. It only had 88,000 miles on it. It has not been reviewed by anyone else at this time. The repair bill is for almost as much as what we owe on the loan.

My car stopped accelerating normally and was losing power so eventually I deemed it unsafe to drive. I was told by a mechanic that it was just a speed sensor or the computer needed reprogramming. I took it to the Nissan dealership and they said that the entire transmission needed to be replaced. Mind you I had only had the car about 10 months. I declined the warranty since it-??s a 2018 and was not told the car had any major concerns. I had the transmission replaced and it-??s $4,391. It-??s been in the shop since July 2022 and the place I bought it from is permanently closed so I couldn-??t take it back or exchange it. I haven-??t been able to work without a car. I-??ve been working sporadically so the bills fell behind and now I-??m going through eviction stuff and facing repossession etc-?? it all started with this transmission replacement. I-??ve been so stressed out. I hope things turn around. ?-??? CVT transmissions are not my first go with Nissans.

There needs to be a safety recall on Nissan CVT transmissions. The company can not knowingly continue to sell a faulty/detective product and pass the cost onto customers. I purchased my 2018 Nissan Sentra brand new October 2018. I had began to have transmission issues May 2019. I brought the car in several times and finally got a replacement in October 2019. July 2022 its the same issues again, hesitation when getting on the freeway, the car will jerk while driving and the RPMS will began to spike. I don't we are suppose to replace transmission every year or year in a half. My car is not even 4 years old I shouldn't have this issue.
