The vehicle was leased on 6/15/19. It has the Premium Package, which comes with a dual climate control system. The goal of the system is to meet the temperature set on the display by the driver or passenger. However, there is a dedicated button for explicitly truing on/off the A/C so you can allow neutral air through the system. This button does nothing. It does not matter if you turn it on, it does not matter if you turn it off, the A/C stays on until the temperature on the display is met.
Upon multiple visits to the local dealership demonstrating the problem to "Master Techs", a lengthy Consumer Affairs case that went nowhere, a DTS (Dealer Technical Specialist) reviewing the vehicle with a schematic for the button, and ultimately a Nissan Arbitration representative going over the whole experience, I was told "Nissan would not be in a position to consider replacing or buying back the vehicle at this time".
Here is the official YouTube video explaining how the system is supposed to work: https://youtu.be/AXFA0JS0y4U
