Noticed grease on rear axle near wheel while under truck appears to be leak from axle seal. I will take the vehicle to the dealership for review and repair if necessary. I do not know how long this condition has existed, but could expect the leak to affect the braking ability.

Dealer repaired and replaced under Nissan 60,000 mile power-train warranty. [forum members generally believe the rear axle breather element, (a one way check valve), creates a vacuum that sucks the seals, thereby creating the leak. Some even remove the element and install tubing into their tail light to alleviate the check valve and still prevent water intrusion into the differential/axle].
