problem #2

May 172014

Titan LE 5.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 84,196 miles

Tailpipe broke off at the welded flange, connecting tailpipe to the main exhaust...When this broke, the hot exhaust was directed right at the main wiring harness melting it..the exposed wires with no insulation are now contacting each other, causing my abs, vdc and traction control light to come on..This disabled all of these functions as well as disabling 4 wheel drive availability.

I go to local Nissan dealer and they feign ignorance of course and tell me that they have to replace entire harness at 10 hours of labor..I go underneath myself and separate wire, then liquid tape all bare wires..solved it for now..
