problem #1

Titan LX 5.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 117,000 miles

My Titan would not start when I turned the ignition. I verified that the fuses and relays were all working. I verified that the battery was fully charged and the battery terminals were clean. I verified that the fusible link on the positive battery terminal was good. I verified that the starter and ignition switch were in working condition.

Finally after not being able to trace the problem myself, I had my truck towed to my mechanic and he found that the radiator had leaked into the transmission. He estimated that the cost of replacing/rebuilding the transmission, flushing the engine, replacing the cooling hoses and getting the new transmission control module flashed by the Nissan dealership would cost approximately $6,000 to $7,500!
