The door handles on my 2005 Nissan Titan freeze every time the temperature drops below freezing. I live in the northeast ! I bought the truck for safe winter driving but when the temperature drops below freezing the door handle freezes up and wont open. If you do manage to somehow get the door open you can not close it again until it thaws out. My wife and daughter both use this vehicle and I consider this an unsafe issue. I have also read many forums pertaining to this problem and am wondering why this has not become a recall.

Titan 4WD 8-cyl

  • 70,500 miles
I have a 2005 Nissan Titan and it has a problem with the door handle cables freezing up. It makes it impossible to open the door and if the door is opened, it will not close securely. I was able to get into the truck but the door came open as I was driving. Luckily, I always wear my seat belt or it could have gotten very ugly. I took it into the dealership on Jan 4, 2011 and was told they could replace the cables for about $400 per door since it was out of warranty. This is a serious safety issue and needs to be addressed immediately. Apparently it has been an ongoing problem on Titans since 2004 and has never been corrected. Something needs to be done before someone losses their life. Thank you.

My grandson owns a 2005 Nissan Titan pick up, he made a turn into our street and bed of the truck, literally became twisted and not align with the cab of the truck. He could have been seriously hurt. When he took the truck down to the dealers they advise him that bolts and come loose and the would charge $300 dollars for the repair. We have own a lot of trucks in my life time and I have never seen this happen to any of the truck we own. What type of company sees no danger in this. Someone could have been seriously hurt. And all they could think about was the charge. You would think they would want to find out why this happen. Sincerely a ver concern grandmother and soon to be greatmother.
