The truck stalled out no power had to crash into shoulder of road and embankment. Glad we survived the bumpy crash, I just had suspension work done that saved us. We read the ipdm board or ECM relay is bad and causes this stalling to happen. Part number for ECM relay 284B7-CW29.

Back in may of 2011 I was driving my Nissan Titan truck down the highway with my two girls 6 & 7 year old when I heard the truck making a noise out of the rear.I slow down and immediately pulled over to the side of road not knowing what had happened. I drove the vehicle back to my home and called the dealership. When I took my 2005 Nissan Titan to the dealership in vineland New Jersey they stated that the problem with my truck was the rear and needed to be replaced. They stated that the repair cost for the whole rear was $3,800 in order for it to be repaired. They stated that my truck was out of warranty by 2 months even though I only had 38,836 miles on it. I asked why couldn't the pumpkin in the rear be fixed and Nissan stated they do not just fix the pumpkin. They would have to replace the whole rear in the truck costing me $3,800. I called [xxx] and spoke to [xxx]. [xxx] rep stated that he has never heard of this problem, part (tt913A582) [xxx] posi. [xxx] stated to me that they make this rear for Nissan. [xxx] stated that Nissan engineers, engineer part and they only make it for them. I took the vehicle to a local shop to be repaired which stated that the repairs would cost me $1,358.90. The auto repair center that I took my Nissan titian to, stated that there was many many many complaints about the rears in the Nissan Titans starting from 2005 to 2010. It was actually being reported online search. As I looked online I could see many complaints about the Nissan Titan rears with the same problem. So my question to the government supervisor paid by taxpayers, does it take 30 people to die in order to fix the problem and blame it on Nissan just like you did to GM. Fix the problem. So go online and read. Take matters seriously!! I extricate people out of vehicles for a living when they are in car accidents dead or alive. On November 30, 2010 while driving my son to school my steering wheel locked-up and the rack & pinion leaked all the oil and the truck was totally disabled. Also July 30, 2011(mileage 28830) it happened again while going on vacation with my family to los angeles. While driving on the freeway I heard some vibration on the steering wheel and the steering totally disengaged from the rack & pinion. We were not able to steer the wheel at all that we had to stop and get help. Also December 29, 2012 (mileage 33323) it happened again while pulling the truck out of my garage, this time it leaked all the oil from the rack & pinion and the steering wheel was very stiff to drive. I feel that this problem needs to be addressed as soon as possible because somebody can get badly injured or killed because it's really unsafe to drive this truck. Future Nissan where I bought the truck will not help me with this issue & are denying to fix my truck again because they are saying it's the same problem again. I ask that you please help me resolve this matter. Thank you, [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

Driving North on the highway @ 70mph, vehicle backfired and engine shut down, no power steering or brakes. Moved vehicle off the highway, cranked but would not start. Left vehicle for the day and returned and replaced a recalled (but known good replacement) ECM relay and vehicle started and ran correctly but showed ses light and code showed P0335 crk pos sensor. This vehicle had a catastrophic failure while driving which represented a serious hazard to both the driver and surrounding vehicles should the driver has panicked in this situation and heavy traffic. To date the vehicle is a Nissan facility and still has not been repaired at great expense and inconvenience to the owner.

Heard a poping sound from the steering column. The steering would just spin and wouldn't turn the wheels.took into to my mechanic who found that the steering wheel gear had stripped from the steering column. Both gears were round and loss total control of the steering.

Vehicle steering went out and wouldn't let me turn. Caused me to lose control of the vehicle and run off the road and caused me to slingshot back across to the other side of the road running into a grove of trees causing the truck to be totaled and causing injuries to myself.

2005 Nissan Titan crew cab 4X4 with off-road package, within 10,000 miles there were loose bolts on the transfer case. At 38,500 miles the left front differential seal failed and leaked. At 39,800 miles the power steering hose went bad and leaked. At 51,000 miles the circular clip on the axle at front left differential deformed causing axle to begin to fall out of vehicle!!! thankfully all has been covered under our extended warranty, and dealerships have replaced parts, but when it runs out these will come from our pocket, and no one can guarantee the new parts are not just replacements or any better. This could have resulted in death or injury to us or someone else had that axle fell from vehicle, and could occur again.

The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Titan. The contact stated that while driving 15 mph, he noticed that the front end of the vehicle would move from the left then to the right side when shifted into 4-wheel drive. On a separate occasion, while traveling at speeds of 2 mph in the reverse position, the contact heard an unusually loud popping noise. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where the contact was informed that the emergency brake pads had separated and the front pinion bearing needed to be replaced. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the contact was awaiting repairs. The failure mileage was 73,000 and the current mileage was 83,000.

Left & right rear seals leaking on my king cab 05 Nissan Titan. I had the 60,000 mile service done in early July 2009, at the dealership. The approximate mileage on my truck at that time was around 66,000 miles. Upon completing the job, the next day, most of the transmission fluid leaked out of my truck. The dealership came to my house and repaired the leak and topped off the transmission fluid. They said that it was a failed hose clamp. They took my truck back to the dealership to look it over to confirm that everything else was ok. They also check on a fan recall that was pending. They told me that no repairs were necessary. A couple of weeks ago I noticed that transmission fluid appeared to be leaking again from the front end. I took my truck in earlier this week and the dealership replaced a leaking transmission hose at no charge. They informed me at this time that my left and right rear seals were leaking very bad. They also informed me that I have a power steering leak. I don't understand why these issues were not addressed in July when the 60,000 mile service was done unless it just recently started. They told me how much it will cost to do the repairs and advised that I take care of it asap!

I purchased a new Nissan Titan from alan kurth dealership minot, nd. May of 2005. Within the year I asked several times about the "strange" braking experience. I noticed some vibration from the front brakes that also vibrated the steering column. I was told that this was normal on a Titan heavy duty truck. I am not a mechanic and took their word. That dealership went out of business shortly thereafter and the only other Nissan dealer was in bismark, a long way from where I lived at the time. I did take it to that dealer, bismark Honda-Nissan-Hyundai in July of 2006 in response to a recall about another issue. Nothing was mentioned by them about any problem with the brakes. The truck was not driven that much, currently has less than 30,000 miles and the vibration has become worse and worse once I brought the vehicle to Florida last fall to the point that I took it to my mechanic. I was told then after they inspected the truck on April 23rd. 2009 that Nissan had identified a major problem with the brakes on this model called brake judder he suggested I call Nissan to see how they were managing the problem. I telephoned Nissan consumer office on April 24th and spoke with andy who opened a case file and that number is 6477694. He said I would have to begin with the local dealer to have them inspect the truck so I contacted maroone Nissan in ft lauderdale and took the truck in on April 27, 2009. I dealt with the assistant service manager. When they had finally finished with their inspection he told me that "Nissan would not provide a courtesy repair since they had initially extended the warranty expired in 2008. I had researched the issue and found the following that Nissan failed to provide. 1. the issue was sent out to all Nissan service managers on March 16, 2005. The repairs were not made prior to my purchase. 2. they were directed to supply a "legible photocopy" about the warranty extension. They did not. This was detailed in Nissan advisory nnawb/05-01.
