Titan 8-cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 28,000 miles
The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Titan. While driving 45 mph, the steering wheel began shaking when the brakes were applied. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and was informed that this was normal wear for the vehicle. However, the dealer replaced the rotors and brake pads for the front tires. The vehicle worked normally for a year after the repairs were made, but the failure eventually recurred. This temporarily remedied the issue for 15,000 miles. The contact believes that this failure should not be occurring to a three year old vehicle. The vehicle is not used everyday, so he believes the failure is due to a manufacturer defect. He attempted to have the rotors turned for a second time. Currently, the rotors have to be replaced for the third time. The failure mileage was 28,000 and current mileage was 75,000. Updated 5/26/09 the consumer stated the rotors were turned and new pads were installed. Updated 05/28/09.

Titan 8-cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 12,850 miles
The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Titan. The contact experienced brake failure. He took the vehicle to a mechanic and was informed that the brakes were underrated (too small) to provide adequate stopping ability for a vehicle of that size. As a result, the brakes dug into the rotors and caused massive damage to the point that they had to be replaced along with the brakes. The dealer stated that the contact would have to pay for the brake repair because the vehicle was no longer under warranty. The failure and current mileages were 12,850.
