2006 Nissan Titan exhaust manifolds cracked again. Fixed at dealer at 62,837, replaced both exhaust manifolds with new ones. Now at 118023 manifolds are cracked again, out of warranty and dealer will not replace. This is not a cheap repair somewhere around $2900 to fix both. I have heard many other complaints about this and had I known previously I would not have purchased this vehicle. Nissan replaced the faulty manifolds with the same new faulty manifolds.

Have taken it to two different repair shops and have both (drivers/passenger side) exhaust manifold are cracked. Have gone to Nissan for the repairs.Nissan has stated that its a known issue on Nissan Titans for the years of 2004-2007 but won't replace it. Was quoted for the repair of $3,000. Its just out of the miles on the 80K/8year emissions warranty, but still time frame.

My 2006 Titan started vibrating like running over rumble strips on side of highway. Took straight to dealership. Was told that the cooling system split and contaminated the transmission. I had to have the transmission and radiator replaced $7313.56. There was no warning or anything. After reading many complaints for the same thing on other Nissan vehicles, there needs to be an investigation and a recall on the cooling system that can cause this amount of damage.

Left and right side exhaust manifolds are cracked. They are normally covered under the emissions warranty of 8yr/80K miles. I am out of warranty by 4,000 miles. I put 4K miles every 3 months and I have heard the ticking noise when the vehicle is cold for over this time period. I contacted Nissan usa for loyal customer assistance and was denied. I filed an appeal and was denied within 2 hours. I have owned (3) Nissan in the past 7 years and expect some compensation. This is a major problem on all Titans 2004 to 2007. This should be under recall for exhaust gases getting into the passenger compartment.

I have a 2006 SE Nissan Titan truck, my concern is I just found out from my local dealer that I have a exhaust manifold leak. The main reason for my concern is... how this came about was because I was and still am getting exhaust fumes into driver compartment which in return gives me headaches, and on two occasions caused serve dizziness. When I explained this to the dealer the said there was nothing they could do! I have two children who I drive to school, I don't need them getting sick from these fumes from which I experienced! Driving at night and the cabin heater wouldn't get warm. Didn't think much about it as I was driving less than 5 miles. The next morning noticed a large pool of antifreeze under the truck. Topped the coolant off, fired the truck up and let it idle in the driveway until it came up to normal to warm water temperature and antifreeze began dripping from the bottom of the radiator. Researched the radiator issue and found some Titan owners have had to replace cracked/split radiators more than once. To avoid multiple radiator replacements I will be purchasing a high performance aluminum radiator at a significant cost difference. I feel this should be a recall covered by the manufacturer. The plastic radiators may cut down the vehicles weight, making it easier to attain federal mpg standards but the all metal ones just last longer and are easily repaired. How many Titan radiators have drained their antifreeze into the street and then the storm drain? maybe the epa should be informed since; "antifreeze is toxic to humans and animals. Waste antifreeze contains heavy metals such as lead, cadmium, and chromium in high enough levels to potentially make it a regulated hazardous waste, so most states strictly regulate antifreeze disposal. Antifreeze generators and state and local programs should not dump spent antifreeze on land or discharge it into a sanitary sewer, storm drain, ditch, dry well, or septic system; dumping antifreeze can cause serious water quality problems and might harm people, pets, or wildlife".

The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Titan. The contact stated that the intelligent power distribution module (ipdm) and the electronic control module (ECM) failed, causing the vehicle to stall. In addition, fuel leaked into the catalytic converter abnormally, causing the catalytic converter to become inoperative. The dealer inspected and repaired the intelligent power distribution module, the electronic control module and the catalytic converter. The manufacturer assisted with the cost of repairs of the intelligent power distribution module and the electronic control module. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 94,000 and the current mileage was 96,000.

Traveling in heavy morning traffic and the vehicle simply quit in the midst of hundreds of vehicles. It would not fully restart but would only rough idle a time or two. Vehicle had to be towed and it was determined that the ipdm/ECM had failed. The parts were replaced and as soon as I began leave the repair facility the "service engine soon" light came on. It was determined that one of the catalytic converters had failed...due to raw fuel being dumped into it as result of the failure of the ipdm/ECM. A few days later, as I was researching catalytic converters online, I came across a Nissan recall - NHTSA campaign id 10V517000 and realized that this was the exact situation but that I had not received notice of said recall. I contacted Nissan regarding this situation and reimbursement for the repairs and they advised that I'd have to take the vehicle to one of their dealers for inspection before they'd consider reimbursing. I did so and they did reimburse for the ipdm/ECM repairs. However, when I asked about the catalytic converter failure...which was an immediate result of the ipdm/ECM failure, the dealer (and Nissan Consumer Affairs) indicated that I'd have to get an estimate & "restart" the process. While doing so, I learned of numerous examples of this very same thing happening when ipdm/ECM fails & dumps raw fuel into the catalytic converter. So, I obtained the estimate from a Nissan dealer and recontacted Nissan Consumer Affairs and began the process again. In the meantime, I did learn that it is not safe to drive a vehicle with a damaged converter as it can cause the engine to fail...thereby causing a dangerous situation on the road...for myself and others. Nissan has now refused to pay to repair the catalytic converter which was damaged by the failure of their recalled part...and I am wondering if your office can help me in this particular situation.

I own a 4X4 loaded 2006 Titan le which is my primary family vehicle. Around 80K, ECM module went out causing car to stall out and lose all power in the middle of traffic (with my kids). Lucky not to be nailed by an on-coming car, I had the car towed to the dealership and module was replaced due to recall. One week later while vacationing in the mountains the battery randomly fried, we replaced it. However immediately following, the anti-theft alarm would randomly sound off, the dvd player wouldn't work (hasn't worked since), the sunroof was malfunctioning and wouldn't open and close properly. Once we returned, the dealership couldn't find anything wrong (except the dvd player, which no one could explain). About two weeks later the check engine light came on and we found that the first catalytic converter on the passenger side had blown..followed not long after by cracked exhaust manifolds and the drivers side catalytic converter bad..dealership wants $3000 just for the catalytic converters!!! I should not be responsible for the cost of replacement! this clearly is a manufacturers defect and not a isolated case, Nissan must do something about this! I hear rumors of a class action...it is a huge safety hazard!! I'm hoping they do the right thing and just fix it, without having to get lawyers involved.

2006 Nissan Titan only 35,000 miles and both exhaust manifolds cracked and were leaking exhaust gases that could not be fed into catalytic converters..dealer replaced under emissions warranty since exhaust manifold/catalytic converter are a solid 1 piece unit. They replaced with identical defective pieces that I am positive will crack like the original ones..please check online Titan forums and you will see it is a very common problem with almost every Titan..my local dealer says they "automatically check every Titan" for this issue..I believe this should be a recall campaign because it is so common and not from driver error/abuse, and once any Titan is out of the 8 year/80000 mile coverage it is a very expensive repair totaling over 2,000 dollars! most Titan owners report a ticking sound from under the hood especially under cold start up-I didn't notice this on mine so I had no idea mine were cracked that's why I believe there should be a recall to inspect as many Titans as possible for this emissions issue.

The exhaust manifolds are notorious for cracking on Titans, causing exhaust fumes to enter the truck cab. Very dangerous, loud and obnoxious. Un converted exhaust is leaking into the atmosphere so this effects the emissions laws. The manifolds are one-piece with the cats by the way. They should all be replaced due to extremely poor design and failure rate on many Titans on forums such as titantalk.com.

Noticed loud banging in rear of truck. Found the exhaust tailpipe broke off near the muffler and was hanging by a mounting post. Upon inspection after removal of the tailpipe from the underside of truck, it looked like a junction of the tail pipe to the muffler pipe had completely rusted through.

Both exhaust manifolds are cracked requiring replacement. Their failure emitted raw engine exhaust into the engine compartment potentially endangering the life/health of the vehicle occupants due to carbon dioxide exposure through cabin air inlets when the windows are down. At the very least, air pollution in violation of the epa occurred multiplied by the vast number of documented Nissan exhaust manifold failures across the country.

Leaking manifold; this part was recalled by Nissan but upon completion of form, I was informed they calculated the mileage to be beyond their warranty. The left side manifold was replaced at my expense. Now the right manifold has cracked also and is leaking exhaust fumes. Nissan is aware that I have the left side manifold for their inspection and their local dealership, where I purchased this vehicle, confirmed the right is also cracked. This is a danger and definite hazard due to the exhaust fumes and possible fire yet Nissan has declined any assistance in reimbursement or assistance in replacing the right side manifold due to their calculation that the mileage was beyond their warranty coverage. I could not find records as to the mileage when I replace the left manifold. The mechanic informed me when he replaced the left side manifold that he would expect that the right to do the same.

2006 Nissan Titan died in parking lot on Sunday, August 1st, started right up. On Monday, August 2nd, died in bank drive through, took about 8-10 minutes to get started, then only "chugged". was able to get out of drive through line and to parking spot. Turned engine off for 20 minutes, started up and went back to work. At 5:00 on that day, would not start. Tried for 30 minutes. Husband had friend tow it home and they checked the spark plugs and a few things with no luck. On August, 4th, husband towed the truck to the clay cooley Nissan dealership, their test showed it to be the ipdm sensor out. This part was replaced and truck was fixed. The cost for this repair was $306.16. I have just found out that this sensor has been recalled on Titans produced from 2004 to June 2006. According to clay cooley Nissan, my truck was produced in April 2006; according to Nissan customer service this recall was effective from 2004 to March 2006. This makes no sense to me. This part was recalled and it went out on my truck. I plan to keep following on this issue until I get my $306.16 refunded.

11/16/09 car (2006 Titan - crew cab) died while turning out of a street of on-coming traffic. Could have been hit by a car but wasn't. car eventually started after a few starts. 11/17/09 car did not start at all; car had to be towed to Nissan service department 11/17/09 Nissan service department suspected a problem with the ipdm = intelligent power distributor module- the part that provides power for the whole vehicle to run. Service department has indicated that the part is hard to come by because of the backlog in manufacturing the part. After diagnostics, it was the ipdm and was told that the part will take about 3 weeks to order. After talking to service rep, they have indicated that they had several cars that were waiting for the part for their car. 11/25/09: Part received and car will be fixed by end of today and ready for pick up. Cost of part and labor should not be at consumer cost but at the manufacturer because of the inconvenience that this has caused.

I have a Nissan Titan 2006 and had to replace my fuel pump 2 times and now I have rear axle leaking and I now have 2 cracked manifolds which dealer told me is very common also I need to replace the flow for heating and cooling. I am very concerned with the exhaust leaking which could only be done by getting the truck very hot which if I did I would of had to do head gaskets. Which are ok. Also I had to replace the radiator it had 2 cracks in where it is bolted they give and became weak. I don't abuse my truck I love it I have never got it hot I maintain it as much as possible. Alot of the complaints I have read are the same a mine what does it take to get this resolved. Call me we need to band together and fix this.
